Bullis School is an independent, co-educational college preparatory day school offering girls and boys in grades 3-12 an educational program of excellence in a community that values integrity, respect, responsibility, diversity and service. The school has a proud heritage. Founded in 1930 by Cmdr. William F. Bullis in downtown Washington, D.C., Bullis was originally established as a preparatory school for the United States Naval Academy, and over time has evolved into the co-educational college preparatory school that it is today.

Cary Academy, founded in 1996, is an independent, co-educational college preparatory day school for students in grades 6-12. Cary Academy fosters a commitment to continued learning, mutual respect and support, strong interpersonal relationships, and shared interests and goals among a diverse population. Founded in 1910, the Cate School has grown from an initial class of 12 boys to a current enrollment of 264 boys and girls from across the United States and around the world. Catlin Gabel School is Portland's nationally recognized progressive independent day school for students from preschool through twelfth grade. In 1957, The Catlin Hillside School and Gabel Country Day School merged to become the Catlin Gabel School. Gabel Country Day's roots date back to 1859 and The Portland Academy. Catlin Hillside School originated as Miss Catlin's School in 1911. The Catlin Gabel School supports inspired learning, leading to responsible action through dedicated teaching, caring relationships, a challenging curriculum, and community service. Founded in 1939, the Center for Early Education (CEE) is an independent, coed day school committed to providing an exemplary education for preschool and elementary students of differing ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. The Chapin School, founded in 1901 by Maria Bowen Chapin, is an independent day school dedicated to the intellectual and personal growth of young women. Students engage in a rigorous liberal arts program that prepares them for further academic study and fosters curiosity, creativity, enthusiasm and integrity. The school provides a balance between freedom and structure, independence and support, individualism and cooperation, and innovation and tradition. Chapin currently has 673 students enrolled in kindergarten through twelfth grade.

Charles E Smith Jewish Day School (CESJDS) is an independent school for students in grades K-12 It provides a curriculum of general and Judaic studies in an environment that emphasizes excellence, leadership, values, and service to the community.
