Friends Western School

Friends Western School aims to awaken a love of learning in each child; promote academic excellence; and prepare students to use their knowledge with creativity and compassion. Quaker values, such as peace, simplicity, community, equity and stewardship are integrated into both curriculum and daily practice. Horace Mann School

The Horace Mann School was founded in 1887 as a co-educational experimental and developmental unit of Columbia University's Teachers College. It became financially and administratively independent in 1946, and now is a co-educational college preparatory day school enrolling students in nursery through twelfth grade. Horace Mann seeks to educate and nurture its students and to help them fulfill their potential. To attain this goal, the School provides a challenging and rigorous set of academic and extracurricular programs within a caring and supportive environment. American Friends Of Maru A Pula School (AFMAP)

American Friends of Maru a Pula, Inc., or AFMAP, serves as a support organization for MAP in this country. American "friends" include past MAP teachers, students, former workers in Botswana and others interested in encouraging fine education in southern Africa. Founded in 1972, Maru-a-Pula is an independent, non-profit secondary school established as a non-racial institution rooted in Botswana. Maru-a-Pula offers a rigorous curriculum that prepares students for entry to highly selective universities and to pursue challenging careers. Through programs emphasizing self-discipline and community service, each student learns personal and social responsibility. Maru-a-Pula encourages its students to exercise leadership that is compassionate, democratic and tolerant.

Good Shepherd Nativity Mission School

The Good Shepherd Nativity Mission School, Inc. seeks to help low-income, urban youth in order to realize their fullest potential as productive members of society by providing them with an extended day, year-round, quality education, integrated with personal, moral and spiritual development and continued guidance during the students’ further education. The Judeo-Christian values which have inspired the Nativity model include a respect for the dignity and potential of each person, a responsibility to assist the poor and those in need, a strong sense of community within the one family of God, and the obligation to promote a society characterized by social justice.  In this Nativity model, students are enrolled without regard to race, color, religion or ethnicity.

Community Preparatory School

Guitars In The Classroom

To elevate student engagement, and expand the role of music in education by making purposeful, inclusive music a joyful and integral part of literacy, academic, and social-emotional learning throughout the school day, and beyond. We accomplish this by training and equipping inspired educators to integrate hands-on music and songs for learning with classroom instruction, activities, transitions, support services, and building classroom communities. ​Our unique, developmental approach nurtures creative and effective teaching practices through free weekly professional development (PD) courses in ukulele, guitar, and classroom implementation, as well as capacity-building co-teaching artist residencies, intensive workshops, in-service trainings, conference presentations, after school music clubs, and specialized services in adaptive music for inclusion.

Founded in 1950, Coast Episcopal School's purpose is to foster a life-long love of learning and to develop each student's potential: intellectually, creatively, emotionally, socially, physically, and spiritually, in preparation for college and life. The Gail Keenan Art Gallery furthers the mission of Coast Episcopal School: fostering a lifelong love of learning while enhancing our longstanding emphasis on both academic excellence and the arts.
