RNF Mission: The mission of the Religion News Foundation is to strengthen and encourage religion reporting as a means of improving public understanding of religion. The primary means of doing this is by providing journalists in the secular media access to useful resources, examples of best practices and opportunities for increased communication with one another. RNS Mission: Religion News Service is an independent, nonprofit and award-winning source of global news on religion, spirituality, culture and ethics, reported by a staff of professional journalists. Founded in 1934, RNS seeks to inform readers with objective reporting and insightful commentary, and is relied upon by secular and faith-based news organizations in a number of countries. RNS is affiliated with the Missouri School of Journalism at the University of Missouri. RNF Vision: Religion News Foundation shall accomplish its mission by supporting and funding the work of the RNA and through its own programs to promote excellence in religion reporting. At Donate4Refugees our vision is for every displaced person in Europe to be welcomed with humanity and respect in Europe and given the helping hand they need to find safety, peace and happiness in their new forever home. We work collaboratively to help ensure every displaced man, women and child asking for Europe's help gets the support they need to start their new life with dignity. That is, to have a place to live, enough food to eat, clothes to wear, warmth, lighting and hygiene. Along with access to essential information and education. We primarily do this by raising money that helps fund inspiring humanitarian projects delivered on-the-ground by our grassroots volunteer partners. We work together keeping people and hope alive. Did you know that at the UK border in northern France there's no shelter and little food or water for refugees? That rising hostility is played out through police brutality and cruel policy? Meanwhile, on the Greek mainland, evictions are making hundreds of families street homeless, living in poverty. Whilst the Greek arrival islands buckle under severe over-crowding, lack of basic hygiene and appalling food within camps sending tensions inside the camps, and right wing violence outside of them, soaring. Life for refugees in Europe's hot spots in 2020 is utterly miserable. The hope in people's eyes is disappearing, the smiles are fading... Now that you know, will you help? Within this devastating environment our volunteers are too often providing the only lifeline to refugees. Donate4Refugees uniquely brings together donations from individuals, businesses and trusts to give grants and emergency funding to our trusted grassroots partners on-the-ground. Those volunteers supporting refugee communities on Europe's front-lines. Together we're filling shamefully big gaps in aid and humanity and, without the tireless dedication of our volunteers, refugee men, women and children would be struggling to even survive. We're acting now providing very real help, human-to-human, to many of the world's most vulnerable people. We only wish we didn't have to.

Support the educational aspirations of young indigenous Oaxacan women from impoverished rural communities in the state. Support the successful completion of high school studies of our grantees and their ability to continue university level studies. Promote the holistic development of the grantees during their high schools studies enhancing their studies through workshops and courses regarding gender equity, prevention of adolescent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases (STD), prevention of violence in dating relationships, environmental stewardship, and reading outside of school assignments. Include in the grant personal physical and mental health care to assure health issues do not impede their development. Encourage grantees who complete high school successfully to continue their studies at the university level through financial assistance, lodging and other support. In 2018 the Fondo is funding 34 young women in high school and 15 studying in university. Note: The high school level grantees live in their communities or a town nearby that offers high school level studies. Each month all the grantees gather at the Fondo office in the capital city for a weekend workshops and courses and receive their stipend for the following month as well as their expenses for travel.

Can remote villages have the same opportunities as urban centres? Can rural residents have access to careers, clean water, healthcare, education, productive agriculture and communication-without leaving their villages? Smart Villages believes that people in remote villages deserve the same opportunities as everyone else. Remote villages are often "off the grid" and do not have a reliable supply of energy for lighting homes, cooking, charging mobile phones, or powering businesses. The energy sources they do have, such as kerosene lamps, are often harmful to their health. The national grid may never reach many of these remote villages, but other solutions exist. We believe that energy access in off-grid communities is one of the services that can change lives-but only if it is implemented for the long-term and includes community involvement and training. And for development to happen sustainably, energy and other technologies must be harnessed for productive use, and for the innovative provision of community-level services (for example health and education), so that community residents are able to access all the basic services they need, despite their physical remoteness. Every village can be a "smart village." Smart Villages has provided policy makers, donors and development agencies concerned with rural energy access with new insights on the real barriers to energy access and innovation-driven rural development in villages in developing countries - technological, financial and political - and how they can be overcome. We are focusing more on remote off-grid villages, where local solutions (home- or institution-based systems, and mini-grids) are both more realistic and cheaper than national grid extension. But our approach is equally valid in other situations. Our concern is to ensure that energy access goes hand in hand with smarter, more integrated thinking about rural communities, and results in development and the creation of 'smart villages' in which many of the benefits of life in modern societies are available. In our ongoing work, we aim to demonstrate how Smart Villages and integrated rural development initiatives can be created in a sustainable and community-driven manner, and to evidence how this new holistic rural development paradigm can yield superior, lasting development impacts. We are also committed to investigating innovative technologies that can help deliver some of these integrated development objectives - for example innovative agricultural technology, cold storage, ICT access, remote education and telemedicine. We aim to win grant funding, and raise charitable funding, to implement projects to help catalyse sustainable community-led and focussed rural development worldwide, but particularly in Africa, where we already have a number of active projects.

The Yggdrasil Urban Wildlife Rescue (YUWR) and Education Center is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization located in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. We are dedicated to the rehabilitation of orphaned and injured wildlife living in urban city centers and education of the public about how to live harmoniously with our cities’ wildlife. We serve the San Francisco Bay Area in the State of California, USA. When an injured or orphaned wildlife mammal is found, we nurse these animals back to a healthy state where they are able to be released back into the wild. Through education to children and adults alike, we try to raise awareness of these wild residents of our cities in the hope that a better co-habitation will lead to less injuries/orphans and more enjoyment of the urban wildlife with which we share our cities. We are a grassroots organization and are 100% volunteer-run and donation-funded! Our Mission: To heal the sick and injured/orphaned animals brought to us and ready them for release back into our Urban Wilds. To educate people of all ages in the wonder and enjoyment of wildlife and nature and why it is so vital we protect it. To teach patience and compassion so that urban wildlife is viewed in a more positive light by everyone- not as pests, but as important co-habitators of our environment.

Child Action is a UK registered charity specialising in education and personal development initiatives in India and the UK. The charity was founded by entrepreneur Dr Seema Sharma in response to the terrible poverty she witnessed in Mumbai whilst filming a documentary with Channel 4 as part of the Secret Millionaire series, during which she volunteered with several grassroots NGOs in India. Child Action's work reflects our passionate commitment to preventative strategies which ensure that marginalised groups of people living in India are given the help they need to achieve self-reliance and self-sufficiency. Together with our three local NGO partners, Doorstep School, Toybank and Apnalaya, we support the development of young people living in extreme poverty by creating learning opportunities for children living within Mumbai's most disadvantaged street and slum communities. Our personal relationships with these partner organisations enable us to communicate on a regular basis, ensuring an in-depth understanding of their needs. We undertake regular project monitoring and work with our partners to produce progress reports. This alleviates the administrative burden for the grass roots NGOs, maximising the impact of donor funds for our work in India. The work carried out by our partners is having a transformational and long-lasting effect on the lives of children who face the desperately unfair challenge of being born into families facing extreme poverty.

The Organization assists vulnerable children and families through integrated development initiatives.CRK facilitates the rehabilitation of street children, and other abused or neglected children, by encouraging close links between community -child, project-child, and project - community. Multifaceted activities combine child rehabilitation centers with community development initiatives such as: a. Community Health clinics - both preventive and curative services. b. Training in home based income generating activities. c. Sports facilities in identifying and nurturing talents among the youths. d. Advocacy campaigns on Family health and HIV/AIDS, children rights, domestic violence and substance abuse among the youths. e. Bio- intensive farming activities targeting vulnerable families. f. Vocational training and formation of associations for youths. Vision, A society where children are enjoying their basic rights and leading a dignified life. Mission. Support youth for enrolment in public schools and vocational training. Peer to peer counseling on abuse of drugs. Support the youth to form self help groups / associations. Nurturing of talents through sports. Health education on HIV/AIDS, STIs and testing. Capacity building on enterprise development. 2 Youths engaged in micro businesses. Support trained youth with business start up kits. Routinely monitor the progress of the started ventures. Encourage and assist the youth to get national identity cards for opening bank accounts. Link the supported youth to government development funds e.g youth fund. 3 FAMILY SUPPORT. Through this pillar CRK works with families to build therapeutic relationships, addressing issues affecting children at home, helping families initiate income generating activities and practice bio-intensive agriculture for those with small farms to improve their food security. 3.1. 1. to raise awareness around type 1 diabetes. By creating a community with Hippo and Friends, we can feed the right information ( e.g. science updates ) and bring people together. This can be online, but also off-line. e.g. we organize things like 'fluo-party for children' - and their parents, photo shoot by a professional photographer, world diabetes day, ... so that people can meet each other, and share experiences. Many people feel re leaved if they find out that they are not the only one in the world with a particular problem... 2. to raise funds , to support fundamental and clinical research. We help organizing sport events, Christmas happenings, sell year-calendars from the photo shoot... Although a lot of progress has been made in a technical way ( e.g. introduction of continuous glucose measuring, smart insulin pumps,... ) a lot of discovery-work has to be done in finding a cure. 3. take care of the well-being of the people with Type 1 diabetes. DiaT1op ( acronym for diabetics type 1 to the Top ) is a community of people with type 1 diabetes, who sport together with caretakers of the hospitals they are followed by. Doctors, educators, food-specialist, psychologists sport together with patients with T1 diabetes, in order to stand by them and support them. We offer an educational year-program, which is a combination of presentations of theory, in combination with the practice ( sports are biking, running and hiking ). This not only for the education on itself, but also with the purpose to learn from the experience in practice. Since no person with T1 diabetes reacts in the same way, it is very important that one discovers personally what kind of treatment is the best for him/her.

Outreach Uganda is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Colorado and dedicated to helping empower Ugandans, especially women and children, to rise out of poverty. To do this, we work with village groups in Uganda to bring hope and improve lives, especially in the areas of education, women's empowerment, and self-sufficiency through job creation. Initially, our village groups help support themselves and their families through sales of paper beaded jewelry and other craft items. The beaders save money from their bead sales so they can then start own group or individual businesses to supplement their income and eventually we hope it will be their main source of income. Micro-credit loans from their group's internal revolving loan fund provides additional help for the ladies to either start businesses or further expand their existing businesses to a level that will help them rise above poverty. As an organization, we emphasize to both our donors and our clients that we believe in truly empowering those we help. In everything we do, we seek to be a partner with those we serve so that they do not become dependent on us, and so that we do not take away their spirit of wanting to help themselves. We believe that income-generation of the women, and education of the children is the way that families can truly become empowered. But it is essential to take a holistic approach and focus on multiple areas, all of which impact the woman's income-generation potential. For instance, a woman must be relatively healthy to be a successful business owner. Therefore, we must also help a woman address issues of health. For many of our women in northern Uganda, agriculture and the raising of cash crops will be key to their income generation potential. Therefore, agricultural issues, water issues and even land access and rights become important areas to address.

Established in 1999, Chattering Children's mission is to equip children with hearing loss and their families with a foundation for lifelong learning through listening and spoken language, and to integrate them into a hearing world. Chattering Children currently serves children with hearing loss (some of whom also have visual, motor and/or learning disabilities) who in live Washington, DC, northern Virginia and the Maryland suburbs. Chattering Children provides ongoing educational and clinical services to children with hearing loss throughout their growth and development, as well as coaching and education to their families. Left untreated, hearing loss in early childhood causes a cascade of other delays in language, cognition and social development. Early intervention is imperative if children with deafness are to overcome the challenge posed by the lack of access to sound early in life. Universal newborn hearing screening was heralded as a huge advancement in treating hearing loss because age at intervention is clearly linked with improved outcomes. But, each year the CDC reports that approximately one-third of all children identified through universal newborn hearing screening are lost to follow-up. Those children who do not receive early intervention are destined for a lifetime of poor outcomes. We would like to reach more infants and children who are in need of our services due to limited access to diagnostic testing centers and long waits at centers properly equipped to test infants. Chattering Children is pursuing funding to upgrade audiological equipment that will enable us to provide diagnostic testing for newborns and young children with complex cases who have been identified to have hearing loss, but lack access to timely intervention. The equipment we hope to acquire is portable, enabling Chattering Children to work with local agencies and clinicians to provide screenings across the metropolitan area, meeting these children and their families where they live, eliminating access, travel and transportation obstacles.

Gruppo Aleimar is a non-profit voluntary organization that deals with children and families in need both in Italy and abroad, through the Distance Support, projects of development and awareness-raising and human development activities on the Italian territory. The main areas of our development projects are: 1. Education: taking charge of children in family (natural or adoptive), in foster homes and shelters, schooling and vocational training. 2. Health and hygiene awareness: support to clinics and / or hospitals, funding of surgical operations, seminars for young mothers. 3. Women promotion: start-up of agriculture and livestock, creation of production cooperatives, micro-credit financing. 4. Rural villages' development: water well, kindergarten, solar energy for light and water pumps. 5. Women' refuge and social housing for families in temporary need. The Aleimar Group is active today in 12 countries (Benin, Brazil, Colombia, D.R. Congo, Eritrea, India, Italy, Malawi, Palestine, Kenya, Lebanon, Zambia) with more than 50 projects and takes care directly of 600 children (what we call distance support) and, indirectly, of other 2,500 children that we follow within our projects. The Group comprises Aleimar for overseas project; Tuendelee for Italian projects and Prema, a cooperative for mentally disabled youth. The Group hires five people and relays on the voluntary service of 140 people. Its annual turnover is abt.1,2 million euro and overhead cost is less than 10%. Its balance sheet is checked and approved by internal auditors. We have been granted a seal of quality "Donare con fiducia" by the Istituto Italiano Donazione. Pallottine Missionary Foundation Salvatti.pl (Pallotynska Fundacja Misyjna Salvatti.pl) is an NGO, based in Poland. We support social work of missionaries: kindergartens, schools, health centres, hospitals, nutritional centres, we also fund scholarships for Africans, who study in their own countries. We also organize a course for missionary volunteers, who go to the countries of Global South to help and share their experience. We help in Africa: Rwanda, D.R. Congo, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Rwanda, Uganda, Senegal, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Zanzibar; Asia: India, Syria, Lebanon, Sri Lanca; South America: Colombia, Cuba, Uruguay, Venezuela, Argentina. The Foundation was founded in 2008. We have a long story of support different projects like building maternity in Kigali, building schools in Bivouvue, Esse in Cameroon, supporting kindergartens in Rwanda and D.R. Congo, building schools in Brobo and Ahouaukro in Ivory Coast. We organize debates on hot international social topics with famous experts like Carl Wilkens for the USA, the only American who stayed in Rwanda during the genocide, Nagy el-Khouri from Lebanon, Juan Grabois from Papal Counsel Justicia et Pax and many more. We cooperate with business to help to develop entrepreneurship among Africans. What we take care most is the education of children as we know that is an effective way to help children. In the process of helping the faith doesn't matter - we help all the people in need, regardless their faith. In Africa and India we help in education of children of all faiths. We do not ask for it. Some years ago we helped muslim village in Bosnia which suffered during the big flood. So we don't divide people according to their faith.
