Sustainability Matters cultivates community through conservation education. We make sustainability fun, realistic, and accessible to all. A Virginia-grown grassroots nonprofit, Sustainability Matters works at the intersection of sustainable agriculture, gardening & business; environmental awareness; and nature conservation. Our work helps landowners, farming families, small businesses, and residents implement positive environmental practices, reduce their use of harmful herbicides and pesticides, grow their own food, manage invasive species, and support pollinators and native wildlife. Social interaction, peer-to-peer information exchange, and inclusivity are integral to our model.

THE CAPTAIN PAUL WATSON FOUNDATION has been established to promote and further the legacy of Captain Paul Watson. To focus on the protection and conservation of the Ocean through direct intervention supported by education, documentation, research activities and partnerships with other NGOs, governments and international institutions like the United Nations. It will be made up of a small team that will prevent any future interference or dilution of the overall vision of Paul's legacy by keeping management and bureaucracy minimal.

North Cascades Institute

North Cascades Institute's mission is to conserve and restore Northwest environments through education. In our 21 year history, we have served more than 65,000 children, adults and families in field-based programs emphasizing hands-on discovery and stewardship of the North Cascades--one of the wildest, most biologically diverse landscapes in North America. Our Mountain School, watershed education programs and summer camps teach youth about the natural world. Adult seminars, teacher workshops and our graduate curriculum serve to prepare community, educational and environmental leaders. North Cascades Institute connects people, nature and community through the lasting power of education.

The Trust for Hidden Villa

Hidden Villa was founded by Frank and Josephine Duveneck, who purchased the land in 1924 and offered it as a gathering place for discussion, reflection, and incubation of social reform. Over the following decades, the Duvenecks established the first Hostel on the Pacific Coast (1937), the first residential multiracial summer camp (1945), and Hidden Villa’s Environmental Education Program (1970). The Trust for Hidden Villa was established as an educational nonprofit in 1960. Today this 1600 acre community gem, in Los Altos Hills, provides opportunities to learn about the world around us and each other, participate in sustainable food systems, and develop the next generation of green educators, innovative farmers, and thoughtful leaders. Hidden Villa's mission is to inspire a just and sustainable future through our programs, land, and legacy.
