AVSA was organized to stimulate widespread interest in the propagation and culture of African violets, to promote ways and means for the distribution of all varieties and species, and to gather and publish reliable and practical information concerning the culture and propagation of the African violet. AVSA is the International Cultivar Registration Authority for the genus Saintpaulia. Information about AVSA’s many publications, services and activities is available in the African Violet Magazine, from the AVSA Office, and from the official website (www.avsa.org). The African Violet Society of America, Inc. (AVSA) was organized on November 8, 1946, and incorporated on June 30, 1947. The African Violet Society of America Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

The Snake River Alliance serves as Idaho’s nuclear watchdog and Idaho’s champion for renewable and nuclear-free energy. We raise community awareness about the dangers of nuclear waste, weapons and power while working to identify and promote sustainable alternatives. We do our work through advocacy, collaboration, education and grassroots organizing.

Since 1997, the Kasiisi Project has aided education in and around Kibale National Park in rural western Uganda, East Africa. Founded initially as a link between the research-based Kibale Chimpanzee Project and the local community, the Kasiisi Project now works with several research groups in and around the park to target critical issues for the survival of the forest and support of the local population. We support early childhood education, promote conservation and health education, provide daily school lunches, train teachers, encourage literacy through libraries and computer usage, fund secondary school and college scholarships, and address the special needs of girls.

The Land Conservancy of New Jersey preserves land and water resources, conserves open space, and inspires and empowers individuals and communities to protect land and the environment.

The Friends of the San Pedro River (FSPR), founded in 1987, is a volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation and restoration of the river through advocacy, education, and interpretation.

Through advocacy and education, Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness works to protect, preserve, and restore the wilderness character of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and Quetico-Superior ecosystem. Our vision for the future of this national treasure lies at the intersection of people, communities and wilderness.

W/NP is a progressive and viable humanitarian service organization actively implementing programs in both Wisconsin and Nicaragua. W/NP's goals are to promote mutual understanding and establish lasting relationships among citizens and institutions of Wisconsin and Nicaragua; foster volunteerism and self-help attitudes through the implementation of economic and social development projects; leverage development assistance funds from public and private sources.

The Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to drive bold, science-based action to sustain a dynamic coastal Louisiana through engagement and advocacy. Recognizing that Louisiana’s coastal land-loss will have dramatic impacts on the nation’s energy, navigation and fisheries interests, CRCL works at the state, local and federal level to ensure that restoring and protecting coastal Louisiana is a top priority for our state and the nation. We facilitate and fund actual restoration projects and we work diligently to raise awareness and educate others about the importance of preserving and restoring coastal Louisiana.

The Foundation for the Preservation of the Santa Susana Mountains (the Foundation) was formed in May 1974 as a charitable organization qualified under IRS §501(c)(3) to support the acquisition of land identified as ideal property for a state park in the Santa Susana Mountains and Simi Hills. The Foundation was successful in acquiring land, and ultimately facilitated the purchase of 670 acres for what is now the Santa Susana Pass State Historic Park.
