Founded in 1999, Friends of Reston is a 501c3 organization that performs scientific, educational and charitable projects in support of Reston Association. Some of our community projects include park improvements, camp and tennis scholarships, environmental education and natural areas restoration

Our mission is to help low-income Haitian individuals, families and communities to help themselves so that they can attain and maintain self-sufficiency and dignity. We fulfill our mission by: supporting Haiti's targeted reconstruction efforts through the capacity-building and sustainable development of Haitian organizations. What We Do ESPWA seeks to amplify impact and build enduring solutions to social and economic problems by working collaboratively with others to transform existing systems --incorporating our efforts in a wider ecosystem of actors and initiatives; bridging boundaries to achieve greater levels of change. Our current efforts are centered on spearheading the development of a Haiti Community Foundation as an entity through which this vision can be actualized. COI is a California 501c3 environmental non-profit reducing ocean plastic pollution through Research, Innovation, and Direct Action. Through our Environmental Pollution Assessment Program (EPAP), communities learn a simple process to track changes in local plastic pollution. This data serves as a benchmark to evaluate the impact of mitigation initiatives. Also, we're actively engaged in introducing affordable and customized Portable Plastic Waste Conversion (PPWC) systems as part of our global initiative to provide local communities with effective plastic recycling solutions. Our current project is setting up a demonstration PPWC system for Santa Cruz, CA to illustrate PPWC capabilities to Silicon Valley tech and philanthropic communities.
