Through these unique programs, people with disabilities are increasingly understood, appreciated and accepted as important and contributing members of our world. Since its founding in 1875, American Forests has pledged to be the pathfinders for creating healthy forests from coast to coast. The nonprofit organization seeks to create healthy and resilient forests, from cities to large natural landscapes, that deliver essential benefits for climate, people, water and wildlife. The organization advances its mission through forestry innovation, place-based partnerships to plant and restore forests, and movement building.

The American Lung Association saves lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.

To foster the creation, development, and expansion of community gardens throughout the US and Canada in order to improve people's quality of life through well-developed methods of social interaction, self-reliance, and healthy eating habits while at the same time reducing people's food budgets and neighborhood blight, and, finally, assisting community and economic development efforts by beautifying neighborhoods, producing nutritious food, conserving resources and creating opportunities for recreation, exercise, therapy and education.

To improve people's lives by helping communities protect, conserve, and manage the natural resources upon which their long-term well-being depends.

Through our annual "Denver Digs Trees" program, we distribute and plant more than 1,000 public trees each spring. Many of these trees are planted in Denver's most underserved neighborhoods. Our volunteer "Community Forester" program trains citizens to act as stewards over Denver's urban forest. The Park People manages Denver's Gates Tennis Center -- one of the country's premier public tennis facilities. We also raise private funds for public park projects, including building renovation, landscape projects, and historic preservation of park structures.

The American River Natural History Association (ARNHA) and the Effie Yeaw Nature Center are dedicated to providing educational and interpretive programs and information about the natural environment, principally in the American River Parkway.

To protect and enhance the wildlife habitat, fishery, and recreational resources of the American River Parkway. Our volunteer, non-profit group of members and Board of Directors work to ensure that the American River Parkway will survive and prosper for the benefit of future generations.

The Ocean Cleanup is a non-profit organization developing advanced technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. The Ocean Cleanup has three core approaches to tackling plastic pollution: 1) Clean legacy ocean plastic - Since 2018, The Ocean Cleanup has deployed technologies to remove plastic that has accumulated in ocean garbage patches. It's current system (System 002) has removed more than 225,000 kg of plastic from The Great Pacific Garbage Patch. 2) Turn off the tap: The Ocean Cleanup also develops and deploys Interceptor technologies that prevent plastic from reaching the oceans via rivers, focusing on 1000 rivers that are responsible for 80% of riverine plastic pollution. To date, 19 Interceptor solutions have been deployed across 8 countries. 3) Research: In the process of understanding the problem, The Ocean Cleanup has become a global leader in field research on marine plastic pollution.

The PeopleForBikes Foundation's mission is to put more people on bicycles more often and to promote bicycling as an activity that is good for our bodies, our communities, and our planet.

American Rivers, founded in 1973, is dedicated to protecting and restoring healthy natural rivers and the variety of life they sustain, for the benefit of people, fish, and wildlife.
