It is a Mozambican NGO that started its activities in 1997 and was officially recognized in 2004. It is one of the largest Mozambican NGO's with 167 employees. Esmabama's primary goal is to improve the living conditions of people living in the southern part of the Sofala province, by implementing educational, health and income generation projects/activities. In 2006, Esmabama co-founded the Distance Learning Courses of the Catholic University of Beira. It also implements projects supported by several donors, including: EU, GIZ, ADA, PEPFAR. Esmabama reaches populations of about 500.000 people, being 8.000 of them students and 1.700 poor children living at the boarding schools located at the 4 localities (Estaquinha, Mangunde, Barada and Machanga), run by the Association.

Fundacion Via Cocina is a community based project focused on improving the health and economic development of vulnerable women, youth and underprivileged in Medellin Colombia. With a personalized training and mentoring system sharing healthy food recipes, cooking techniques and applied financial planning and entrepreneurial small business fundamentals, we build a program for individuals and families based on their current reality, applying the training to objectives created with them, for them, in their own home. Additionally, we provide classes to individuals and groups who want to learn to cook healthy dishes with local ingredients for their families, transforming them into uncommon flavors that are low in fat, oil, salt and sugar-free. These activities look to decrease frequency and severity of non-communicable diseases in the communities, including obesity, diabetes and cholesterol.

Our vision is to help build a just society and our mission to secure rights, health and development for marginalized people. We work with the most disadvantaged people, giving priority to women and children - people living with HIV, tuberculosis and leprosy; Dalits (literally 'broken people' - the 'untouchables' of India) and the most discriminated among them; Tribals (indigenous people), women in prostitution, transgendered people, sexual minorities (LGBT), children at risk and people with disability. Our strategy is to mainstream gender, child rights, disability and the needs of the most disadvantaged people of the area. We provide direct services to fill gaps in existing facilities where necessary. But the main strategy is to encourage and support community volunteers and community based organizations to advocate for their rights and entitlements. Since our establishment in 1984, SIBAT envisions a just and sovereign society that upholds genuine development through people-based science & technology. Fast Rural Development Program (FRDP) is a nonprofit and nongovernmental organization registered under the societies Act XXI of 1860, working in the underprivileged areas of Sindh, Pakistan since 2007. The Program is aimed at facilitating the disadvantaged communities in a way that they could be empowered to secure their rights with command over the resources and capabilities to manage the process of sustainable development. FRDP is involved with overall integrated development but its major focus is to promote Water and Sanitation, Health & Hygiene, Emergency Relief, improve Education, SRHR, MNCH, Poverty Alleviation, Promotion of Human Rights (especially the rights of women, children indigenous groups and persons with disabilities), Peace Building and Good Governance. FRDP has well educated, experienced and committed members on its board. FRDP is known for its highly qualified, motivated and experienced staff, quality work, transparent systems and excellent perception among the communities, government and other relevant stakeholders at provincial, national and international level. The Children's Radio Foundation (CRF) uses radio training and broadcast to create opportunities for youth dialogue, participation, leadership, and active citizenship. Through giving youth the tools and skills to produce radio, young people are mobilized to engage in productive dialogue about the issues they face, and work together to improve their lives and communities. With 74 youth radio projects across six African countries, CRF works with radio stations and CBOs to create local platforms for discussion, information sharing, social engagement, and action. Our reporters take on issues that resonate with youth in their community, including but not limited to children's rights, sexual reproductive health and rights, power dynamics in teenage relationships, gender norms and stereotypes, HIV and AIDS-related issues, climate change, and the environment. Speaking in local languages and in a youth-friendly style, they interview community members, host debates, and bring out local perspectives. Their reporting projects, broadcasts, and outreach activities are geared to generate discussion about issues facing youth.

Project1808 promotes sustainable community development in Kabala, Koinadugu District, Sierra Leone by aiding young students in their efforts to identify and address the root causes of poverty, public and environmental health challenges, and other community-identified concerns. Among our project's specific aims are the following: Fostering academic excellence and nurturing a resilient knowledge base through student mentoring, tutoring, internships, and teacher training programs. Stimulating curiosity, creativity, and innovation through student generated projects that enhance knowledge and encourage students to implement their ideas in ways that benefit their communities. Facilitating local and global partnerships for knowledge exchange, training for students, teachers and community members, student mentoring, and resources to sustain the community knowledge base Our Model Project1808 Model for sustainable development At the core of our sustainable community model is an investment in disadvantaged youth, schools, and their communities to form the building blocks as LEGOs of healthy communities in Sierra Leone and Africa. Through specific GLocal (Global and Local) partnerships, we practice the concept of thinking globally and acting locally, enhancing the exchange of knowledge, increasing the cultural competency, and expanding the worldview of all of our participants. Project1808 is committed to optimizing partnerships between educational institutions locally, within Africa and overseas, particularly with the involvement of other African countries. We want to bring back hope to youths (and whole communities) whose lives, homes, families, schools, infrastructure, institutions were destroyed by 11 years of war in Sierra Leone.

Our primary mission is to plant and help others plant a collective total of 18 billion fruit trees across the world (approximately 3 for every person alive) and encourage their growth under organic standards.FTPF provides support, resources, and guidance for those interested in planting fruit trees and spearheads a variety of planting programs. These programs are aimed at enriching the environment, providing nutritious food sources for wild and rescued animals, and improving human health by bringing delicious, fresh, locally grown raw fruits and vegetables of the highest quality into the lives of all people.VISIONWe envision a place where one can have a summer picnic under the shade of a fruit tree, breathe the clean air it generates, and not have to bring anything other than an appetite for the healthy fruits growing overhead. Our purpose is to reduce poverty, bring hope and solidarity to poor communities or individuals in France and worldwide. We bring assistance to families, children and young people but also to the most vulnerable (homelesses, migrants, prisoners etc.). We fight against isolation, help them to find employement and we ensure their social reintegration. We provide emergency responses but also long term support, development aid and we work on the causes of poverty. The action of Secours Catholique finds all its meaning in a global vision of poverty which aims at restoring the human person's dignity and is part and parcel of sustainable development. Safeplan Uganda is a youth-founded and focused organization addressing the challenges youth face in finding employment opportunities in Uganda. The organization's main purpose "is empowering young people through skills and awareness to enhance their potential in becoming responsible citizens" - in short, create sustainable jobs for young people. The organization achieves its purpose through five broad program areas: Health, Environmental Awareness, Education, Gender, and ICT (Information and Communications Technology). Mission Statement We are committed to the enhancement of holistic care and assist urban dwellers and particularly rural youth and women, their local leaders and communities through networking and partnership. VISION To ensure a sound and social economically productive society where young people and other vulnerable citizens live and deliver to their full potential. Overall Goal An enlighten and empower communities working together to build a sustainable future for all Ugandan people Description of the activities The organization is strongly community oriented; it actively engages with youths, women, community elders and church leaders to help identify youths below 30 years of age, targeting nearly all school dropouts, for its programs. Safeplan Uganda is geared towards "supplementing what the government is doing for the local youth" as it recognizes that the government is not able to fully support what the "community youth need and deserve". Safeplan's understanding that "there is a need to help the youth help themselves" has led to its programming in livelihoods skills training. There are three programs at Safeplan currently: 1 - Technical skills training (carpentry and tailoring) 2 - Energy-efficient cook stoves Promoting renewable energy products across the district 3 - Budongo Women Bee Enterprise (BUWOBE) (the Prize-winning activity) Reports & Updates 1- Technical skills training-up to 50 youths have been training in Carpentry and tailoring since 2017 with the merger resources in the organization with community support. The youths are trained locally and supported to acquire national certificate from the Directorate of Industrial Training accredited certifying body by the government of Uganda. 2- Promotion of energy efficient cooking technology-more than 500 solar lantern have been sold since 2017, 12,000 cook stoves sold to community to reduce fuel consumption. More than 1000 women trained in construction of energy cooking technology in refugee settlement camps in northern Uganda Arua District. 3-Budongo women Bee enterprise-(BUWOBE) the two time award winning project has reached more than 300 women with bee keeping skills since 2014. To date the project is empowering 30 more youths and women with skills in bee keeping, business and leadership skills in Nyantonzi village.
