Maui Nui Marine Resource Council works for clean ocean water, healthy coral reefs and an abundance of native fish for the islands of Maui County. Our mission is to bring human actions into balance with ecological principles so that the health and abundance of Maui’s nearshore waters can be restored and sustained for future generations.

The mission of the Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions is to achieve responsible and sustainable use of New Jersey's natural resources and the protection of environmental health. They are a statewide organization that provides leadership, education, and support for environmental commissions and other local boards and public officials, and partners with other organizations to advocate for strong state and regional environmental policy.

OpEPA USA, founded in 2006, is a sister organization of OpEPA Colombia founded in 1998. The organizations were created as a means to reconnect children and adults with nature and promote positive environmental actions in Colombia and Latin America. Colombia is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world. It has an incredible wealth of ecosystems, flora, fauna and cultural diversity. However, Colombia suffers from serious environmental degradation. Deforestation, high levels of urban waste, polluted water and reduced air quality are just four of a litany of similar issues. The environmental movement in Colombia has employed the range of conventional tactics to address these issues. Public awareness campaigns have dotted the airwaves, and legislative changes have improved the legal basis for pursuing polluters. But young people, "the next generation of consumers and decision makers," cannot be scolded or legislated into caring about the environment. To truly change the way they approach environmental issues, they must feel personally compelled to transform the status quo. This is what OpEPA targets to do.

Marine Park Alliance assists NYC Parks in its largest Brooklyn property with a mission to provide cultural, environmental and volunteer programming in Marine Park for the health and well-being of all New Yorkers. To carry out this mission the group envisions elevating this regional park as a South Brooklyn cultural gem – horticulturally, programmatically, and ecologically – free to the public.

The Solar Electric Light Fund (SELF) uses the power of the sun to fight poverty and climate change. Energy access is at the root of some of our biggest global inequities—from education to food security to public health. SELF works with communities around the world to establish solar projects, with a focus on environmental justice, community ownership, and scalable outcomes.

BEAR TRUST INTERNATIONAL WORKS TO CONSERVE ALL EIGHT SPECIES OF THE WORLD'S BEARS, OTHER WILDLIFE, AND HABITAT. WE BELIEVE THAT WILD BEARS IN THEIR NATURAL HABITAT ARE KEY INDICATORS OF ECOSYSTEM HEALTH. THEIR ABILITY TO SUSTAIN THEMSELVES IS, THEREFORE, CRITICAL TO WILDLIFE. BEAR TRUST STRIVES TO REINFORCE ECOSYSTEM VIABILITY THROUGH HABITAT CONSERVATION AND EDUCATION PROJECTS THAT BUILD ON TIMELY RESEARCH.

Founded in 2004, Quail Springs is a leading educational non-profit that resides on a 450-acre permaculture demonstration site on the traditional homelands of the Chumash people in Cuyama Valley, California. Our mission is to empower students of all ages and backgrounds with knowledge, skills, and inspiration essential to cultivating ecological and social health in a rapidly changing world. Quail Springs teaches strategies and techniques instrumental for designing and building resilient, affordable, and carbon-neutral housing as well as ecologically sound and sovereign food systems. We are connected to an expansive local and international network of leading-edge practitioners. We envision an equitable global community that shares the bounty of this living planet and the responsibility to tend to its health. We believe the most effective way to foster positive change is through our relationships, both with one another and our ecologies.

The Trust Deed of 1975 says "The objects of the Trust shall be to relieve poverty and sickness among the people of Tanzania by means of the development of education, health and other social services, the improvement of water supplies and other communal facilities and the promotion of self- help activities." Interpreting the Trust Deed for the needs of the 21st Century we add: "In making grants, the Trust tries to promote equal opportunities and projects which improve the environment".

The Advocacy Project - A Voice for the Voiceless The Advocacy Project (AP) helps marginalized communities around the world take action against the root causes of their disempowerment in a way that benefits society as a whole and produces social change. To do this, we partner with community-based advocates who represent these communities and share their problems. Our support for partners is innovative and effective. First, we deploy Peace Fellows (experienced graduate students) to help partners tell their story, launch campaigns, and strengthen their organization: we have deployed 274 Peace Fellows since 2003, and in the process given our Fellows a unique experience. Second, we help partners to raise funds and manage their campaigns: we have raised over $2.5 million for partners, and are currently seeking funds through Global Giving for exciting projects in Nepal, Vietnam and Uganda. Third, we promote the work of partners internationally, using new methods of story-telling such as advocacy quilting: over 300 women have produced embroidered panels for our quilts, which have been shown throughout North America and Europe. ELM is dedicated to protecting the health of our environment and citizenry by safeguarding the land, water and air of our Commonwealth. ELM is focused on environmental advocacy and strengthening the voice and effectiveness of the environmental community. ELM advocates for strong environmental laws and regulations on the broad range of environmental issues, voices the concerns of citizens, ensures that laws are properly implemented and enforced and educates the public.
