The Indian River Lakes Conservancy (IRLC) is a land trust that was established in 1998 to protect the water quality, wildlife, and beauty of the Indian River Lakes area, and to preserve its natural character. The Indian River Lakes system, located on the St. Lawrence River plain in Jefferson and St. Lawrence Counties, consists of 18 natural lakes. The IRLC protects 2,500 acres of land and maintains more than 20 miles of public trails. Through community building and educational programming, the IRLC seeks to cultivate an enduring recognition of our interconnectedness and of our responsibility to walk softly upon the earth so that future generations can enjoy the lakes as we do now.

Wolf Haven International is a nationally recognized sanctuary for captive-born, displaced wolves. Our mission is to conserve and protect wolves and their habitat. Toward that end, in addition to rescue and sanctuary, Wolf Haven offers a variety of educational presentations focused on wolves and conservation-related themes. Wolf Haven promotes wolf restoration in historical ranges and teaches the value of all wildlife. Since 1982, Wolf Haven has rescued 300 captive-born wolves and provided them with compassionate care, companionship with fellow wolves, and a safe lifetime home. “To protect and enhance the health of the salt ponds for the benefit of wildlife and people.” Our mission includes educating the residents of the salt ponds region about the salt ponds' value to the economy, and how residents can contribute to the well-being of the resource. SPC also acts as a conduit between the residents of the coastal communities and state and local governments for the flow of information vital to the survival of the salt ponds and their environs. SPC works to implement programs which enhance the environment of the salt ponds and contribute to their protection, preservation, and economic well-being. Finally, we network with other organizations to make our ecological experience available to residents of other New England coastal areas with similar needs.

Nashville Zoo's mission is to inspire a culture of understanding and discovery of our natural world through conservation, innovation and leadership. Utilizing diverse learning opportunities, the Zoo’s overall conservation and education message is to provide visitors of all ages a better understanding of and connection with the natural world. We strive to inspire and empower positive attitudes to affect change for the better. Conservation is a critical part of Nashville Zoo’s mission. Through our Wild Works Global Conservation initiatives we are actively involved in research, habitat protection, breeding programs and education initiatives around the globe as well as in our own backyard.
