Friends Of Messalonskee

The Friends of Messalonskee, a nonprofit volunteer organization, is dedicated to the preservation of Messalonskee Lake, also know as Snow Pond. Our purpose is to educate the public and promote the responsible use of the lake through conducting projects, programs, and activities. These include supporting wildlife preservation, informing the public of the results of water quality monitoring, teaching and promoting the practices which protect the water quality of the lake ecosystem, and encouraging safe recreational use of the lake.

Willamette Riverkeeper

Willamette Riverkeeper’s sole mission is to protect and restore the Willamette River. We believe that a river with good water quality and abundant natural habitat, safe for fishing and swimming is a basic public right. The Willamette River belongs to all of us and should be protected as such. They work to enable the Willamette River Watershed to function more naturally with cold, pure water, meandering backchannels, and dynamic habitat for fish and wildlife. The health of this natural ecosystem is inseparable from the quality of life of our communities who live and work in its surrounding watershed; each is dependent on the other.

Northwest Straits Marine Conservation Foundation

The Northwest Straits Foundation, a Salish Sea conservation organization raises funds to support the locally-driven marine restoration, stewardship and education programs.

Friends Of Walker Pond

Over the years, Friends of Walker Pond has funded, and continues to fund, projects that allow Walker Pond to remain one of the healthiest bodies of water in Maine. The group works with the towns of Brooksville and Sedgwick to ensure that our members, area residents and summer guests are aware of the activities affecting the health and enjoyment of the pond. The group engages experts to test and monitor water quality every year and has done so for 20+ years. Friends of Walker Pond has also been active in raising awareness regarding land development that might have the potential to damage the health and environment of the pond. This has all been done with donated funds and volunteer involvement.

Blue Lab Preservation Society

The BlueLab Preservation Society is an interdisciplinary, impact-driven, eco-philanthropic 501c3 seeking to reconcile us with the water world. We mobilize leading minds and operate worldwide to find executable third-millennium solutions to second-millennium blunders, including overfishing, plastic pollution, irresponsible tourism, aqua-floral disbalance and... the shortage of ocean-based art.

East Pond Association

Mission: Through education, fundraising, and other proper activities, to promote the protection and enhancement of the water quality of East Pond and to preserve its ecological, economic, recreational, and aesthetic value. To work with members and other interested parties to monitor water quality, to promote responsible land-use practices, and to maintain the integrity of the watershed ecology of East Pond. To encourage, facilitate and disseminate scientific research regarding East Pond. To publish a newsletter that focuses on information related to the lake protection efforts and developments on East Pond as well as on other lakes and ponds in Maine. To assist the work of charitable, educational, literary, or scientific organizations. To make distributions to nonexempt organizations and governmental bodies conditioned upon the fund being used for specific projects.
