The Ulmer Institute (TUI) is a first of its kind organization dedicated to addressing urban psychological trauma in communities through Pre-TSD treatment, research, and training. Through the utilization of a culturally sensitive adaptation of Israeli innovative techniques and solutions, TUI endeavors to provide communities with tools for pre-emptive trauma prevention and treatment. TUI is also dedicated to advancing the body of work on urban trauma and solutions for redress.

The Advocacy Project - A Voice for the Voiceless The Advocacy Project (AP) helps marginalized communities around the world take action against the root causes of their disempowerment in a way that benefits society as a whole and produces social change. To do this, we partner with community-based advocates who represent these communities and share their problems. Our support for partners is innovative and effective. First, we deploy Peace Fellows (experienced graduate students) to help partners tell their story, launch campaigns, and strengthen their organization: we have deployed 274 Peace Fellows since 2003, and in the process given our Fellows a unique experience. Second, we help partners to raise funds and manage their campaigns: we have raised over $2.5 million for partners, and are currently seeking funds through Global Giving for exciting projects in Nepal, Vietnam and Uganda. Third, we promote the work of partners internationally, using new methods of story-telling such as advocacy quilting: over 300 women have produced embroidered panels for our quilts, which have been shown throughout North America and Europe. We are giving orphan children all the necessary tools and the environment to be leading members of the Egyptian society. They will grow into confident men and women who will shatter the stigma of being an orphan in Egypt. We create a comfortable home environment that provides the children with all the love, support, resources, and guidance they need to thrive.

It is dedicated to supporting research and education in the early detection and treatment of thyroid, and head & neck cancers. THANC is actively committed to advancing new therapies and alleviating the suffering and functional impairment of patients who undergo treatment.

The Wheelhouse is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Deer Park, Texas. It is a bare-bones living environment that offers help to men with drug or alcohol addictions. It’s known as the “last house on the block” because it is often a man’s last chance before he becomes homeless or worse.

We are an organization created by parents of children diagnosed with rare forms of Epilepsy and Autism as a result of a change in the SCN2A gene. Our vision is to find effective treatments and a cure for SCN2A related disorders. Our mission is to improve the lives of those affected by SCN2A related disorders through research, public awareness, family support and patient advocacy. We are a registered 501(c)(3) organization.

The Soldiers Project is committed to providing a safety net of psychological care for post-9/11 Veterans, regardless of their discharge status, and their loved ones. We also work to educate the general public on how the psychological consequences of war affect not only those who serve, but also their loved ones at home and in our communities. All counseling is done by licensed professional mental health therapists in their private, professional office spaces.

Our mission is to help Haiti’s abandoned and vulnerable children by nurturing them so they will live more productive lives.
