Re-imagining a world without rape – powering a culture of consent. The DC Rape Crisis Center (DCRCC) is dedicated to creating a world free of sexual violence through conscience and action. Our call to action obliges us to facilitate systemic change by equipping diverse stakeholders to respond to survivors of sexual assault with compassion, dignity and respect, regardless of race, class, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, immigration status, ability, age or religious affiliation.

Founded in 1982, this ministry has served more than 28,000 women and their families, helped establish two other local centers, and expanded our services to include three medical clinic offices: Annapolis, Bowie Crofton, and Severna Park. All of their services are completely free, allowing them to reach women of every financial status. They receive no government funding, rather rely on the generosity of individuals, organizations, churches and foundations that share this passion for serving women, their babies, and their families.

The Refuge Center’s mission was clear from the beginning—to offer affordable, professional counseling services in order to empower, educate and support individuals, couples and families in need. Amy and Jennifer had discovered that there were few opportunities for affordable counseling in the area, as many local therapists charge $90 – $175+ per session. They wanted to offer therapy to those who could not afford those fees, so they created a sliding-scale fee structure that ranges from $25 – $120 per session and is based on each individual’s income level.

Open Paths mission is to meet the evolving health care needs of the community through quality counseling for individuals and families at affordable fees; free therapy programs for at-risk children and youth in local schools; and a highly-regarded therapist training program. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Open Paths Counseling Center has a forty year history of providing quality, affordable, psychotherapy to Los Angeles residents who would otherwise lack mental health care due to lack of affordability, cultural sensitive, proximity or other barriers. Typical clients struggle with depression, anxiety, grief, and/or trauma, much of which is exacerbated by living in poverty or with other types of societal marginalization. Open Paths has evolved as one of the most diverse counseling centers in Los Angeles. We recognize the importance of diversity as central to our mission of “meeting the evolving mental health needs of the community…” and understand how important providing culturally-sensitive, trauma-informed psychotherapy is for our clients. Recognizing the inherent benefits of diversity, Open Paths’ board of directors, leadership team, and clinical staff are as culturally diverse as our clientele. This is deliberate so that our clients can see their cultural experiences reflected back to them every week when they engage in psychotherapy with us.

We are here to help individuals recover from sexual and domestic abuse through art, movement, and music therapy. City Embrace's "Rise Up" centers provide both group and individual formats. The treatment modalities include activities such as Dance, Painting, Learning Vocational Skills, and Music, as well as group and individual Counseling. City Embrace was established to enable survivors of sexual and domestic abuse to take back control of their lives. We exist to aid individuals in their recovery through a number of different treatment modalities and seek to make these services as widely accessible as possible.

At Alzheimer's Family Services Center (AFSC), we believe that all memory-impaired seniors, irrespective of ethnic background and socioeconomic status, deserve the right to superior personalized care that will enable them to age with dignity at home. Across the last three decades, this belief has guided our mission to improve quality of life for families challenged by Alzheimer's disease or another dementia through services tailored to meet individual needs. We play a key role in our community's continuum of long-term care services by offering affordable access to dementia-specific adult day health care programs, a variety of support services to help caregivers manage the day-to-day challenges of care, and community dementia education and outreach.

Washburn Center for Children nurtures every child and family's well-being and full potential through transformative children's mental health care.With the vast COVid-19 impacts, families are more isolated, struggling with job loss and economic stressors, and deeply affected by the pervasive anxiety that we are all experiencing. Our team moved rapidly to ensure we would continue to support the health and well-being of our staff and the children and families who they serve. In mid-March, we suspended face-to-face sessions at our sites and transitioned to phone-based and teletherapy for all services. We have capacity for new children and families who need stabilizing therapeutic services because of intensified stress, anxiety and depression.

We have substantial experience designing and delivering projects, conferences and professional development opportunities. From instruction and technical assistance to research and report writing, curricula creation and evaluation resources, CHL has served over 20,000 professionals and community members, delivered services for more than 100 projects and developed and promoted numerous local and statewide comprehensive and coordinated strategic health initiatives. CHL has the following current programs and projects: 1. Suicide Prevention- * CHL supports state-wide suicide prevention efforts through the Vermont Suicide Prevention Center, a public/private partnership which seeks to foster a sustainable approach to suicide prevention in Vermont. *CHL manages the VT Suicide Prevention Coalition consisting of representatives from public health, education, state agencies, advocacy groups, youth, mental health services, and survivors. *CHL manages, develops and oversees state-wide suicide prevention trainings including Gatekeeper Training, a Zero Suicide Practice Institute and the Collaborative Assessment for the Management of Suicidality (CAMS) trainings; *CHL coordinates the VT Gun Shop Project in collaboration with the VT Department of Mental Health. *CHL implements the Zero Suicide approach in Vermont and coordinates Zero Suicide Pilot Projects. *CHL and the VT Suicide Prevention Center coordinate the annual Vermont Suicide Prevention Symposium, a cross-agency statewide event that brings together professionals across all sectors for a day of learning from national experts on critical topics and skills in suicide prevention, treatment, and recovery. 2. Prevention Training and Workforce Development - CHL coordinates and implements Substance Abuse Disorder prevention trainings and workforce development activities for the Vermont Department of Health/Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Programs for Regional Prevention Partnership professional staff. 3. Annual Symposia and Conferences: In addition to the Suicide Prevention Symposium, our cornerstone event, CHL assists with the coordination of annual Symposia and Conferences for various partners including the following events: o 4th Annual College Symposium on Substance Use o Community Solutions to the Opiate Issues Facing Vermonters for the VT Department of Health o Substance Abuse Workforce Development Conference for the VT Department of Health. 4. CHL Proprietary and Fee for Service: CHL has several proprietary programs developed and implemented by the organization: *Umatter Suicide Prevention for Schools and Umatter for Staff and Family Awareness -CHL developed this best practice training for school and community settings. *Umatter for Youth and Young Adults Mental Health Wellness Promotion and Community Action--CHL is moving the focus on mental health "upstream" from intervention and crisis to promotion and prevention (self-care, coping and communication skills, etc.). *Community / School District Trainings--CHL provides professional development, technical assistance and support for the implementation of coordinated approaches to school health, and conducts training on mental health, suicide prevention and alcohol, tobacco, sexual health and other critical health topics. *Family Engagement- CHL is building an initiative to promote effective practices for Family Engagement - an emerging interest across sectors

Alpha Pregnancy Help Center (PHC) is a local non-profit agency and a California State-Licensed medical community clinic. We are also licensed with state and federal CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) offices. Our mission is to serve the community with life-affirming solutions related to pregnancy, parenting, and relationships. We know that an unplanned pregnancy can be a challenge when faced with financial hardships, changes in education and career goals, relationship or family issues, or just bad timing. And we understand — having an abortion can seem like the only real option. But there are things you should know before making such an important decision. Alpha PHC provides Pre-Abortion Screening. We encourage informed decision-making by giving you a safe place to process, and by offering free resources and medically-accurate information on pregnancy, surgical abortion, medication abortion, STIs/STDs and more. We also provide valuable information on parenting and adoption. We do not provide or refer for abortions. APHC does not benefit financially from any decision made and therefore does not put pressure on any woman re: her options. We offer professional, informative, and compassionate care to show you all your options and to support you in whatever decision you make. For a woman choosing to carry her baby, we offer resources and referrals to supplement your first trimester care, in addition to parenting classes and, if needed, reproductive loss support. We can also connect you with local agencies to assist you in other ways. All services and resources offered are at no charge. Alpha PHC is governed by a Board of Directors. The Medical Director provides oversight for the medical clinic staff and operations. APHC’s medical professionals are Licensed RNs trained in limited OB ultrasound, serving as paid staff and as volunteers. Our Executive Director provides oversight for all non-medical operations of the center, directing staff and activities related to client services, donor partnerships, administration, mission, vision and community relations. Our Client Advocates are trained in peer counseling to listen with compassion and without judgment. Hudson Pride Connections Center (HPCC) is a home and voice for the diverse LGBTQ community and our allies that advocates for our physical, mental, social and political well-being. We create safe and vibrant spaces to gather and celebrate our lives. HPCC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-governmental, community organization situated in the Journal Square neighborhood in Jersey City, one of the most vibrant and diverse cities in this country and home to the largest LGBTQ community in New Jersey. Hudson Pride was established in 1993 to serve as an advocate for both the LGBTQ and HIV/AIDS communities in Hudson County and more than 20 years later, we are still delivering a wide array of services, programs and events to meet their on-going needs. Our programs and services include LGBTQ support groups for youth, young adults, middle adults and seniors, specialized groups for HIV+ gay men, transgender individuals and women of color, community training and education focused on helping provider agencies to deliver LGBT and HIV competent services, LGBTQ health education, HIV outreach services, social service linkages and advocacy.

The Center for Community Alternatives (CCA), founded in 1981, is a leader in community-based alternatives to incarceration and policy advocacy to reduce reliance on incarceration. We provide direct services to communities in New York City, Syracuse and Rochester, engaging approximately 2,500 youth and adults annually who would otherwise be incarcerated. The great majority of our participants are African-American or Latino/a and come from poor or low-income communities. In addition to direct services, CCA works to bring about a more just and humane criminal justice system. We have achieved success in persuading the State Legislature to adopt "reintegration" as a goal of sentencing; in reforming New York's drug laws; and in realigning New York's juvenile justice system so that more youth are placed in programs in their home communities, rather than detention or incarceration. We are currently leading a national campaign to reduce barriers to college admission for people with criminal records. In an average year, CCA successfully diverts 100 adults and as many juveniles from costly incarceration, saving New York State millions of dollars. Our work reduces the collateral consequences of incarceration, strengthens families and builds safer communities. CCA serves people in trouble: youth at risk; families in crisis; people struggling to address drug and alcohol problems and HIV and AIDS; and people who have been involved in the criminal justice system who are seeking community reintegration and productive, law-abiding lives. CCA endeavors to address these issues by emphasizing personal empowerment, self-respect and concern for one's community.
