Edgewood Center for Children and Families is a non-profit provider of behavioral health services to children, youth, and families that has served the San Francisco Bay Area for over 170 years. As the oldest children’s charity in the Western US, Edgewood helps individuals and their loved ones who struggle with mental illness and behavioral health issues by providing treatment, prevention programs, and crisis services. Our mission: to promote the behavioral health of children, youth, and families and support a positive transition to adulthood.
Center for Hospice Care - Southeast Connecticut has joined Hartford HealthCare at Home to provide a complete range of home-based care and services. This includes Palliative and Hospice care services so that patients and families dealing with life-limiting illnesses have the support needed to reduce fear and anxiety and find strength and support. For families, it includes spiritual and bereavement counseling services before and after their loved one's death - including our unique Expressive Arts program for grieving children and teens.
The Mission of the Center is to demonstrate the love of Christ in word and deed by providing affordable and accessible health care services to the uninsured indigent and working poor. Our Goals are to 1) provide quality low cost primary healthcare services to the uninsured, 2) decrease the demand of the uninsured for non-emergent medical services on the local hospital emergency rooms, and 3) provide a venue for medical professionals and laymen of the Christian community to serve a marginalized population. Our Purpose is to meet the general medical needs of our patients as well as their spiritual needs through prayer and biblical counseling.
Our mission is to reduce health disparities in minority communities with our unique approach to patient care and community involvement. In minority communities, many patients often don’t seek care or clash with the current system because of cultural differences. We work to integrate patients on the fringe of the healthcare system through culturally sensitive health literacy campaigns, community-based health screenings and our culturally conscious health education television program. It is only through partnership with the communities in which we serve that true transformation will occur and disparities can be reduced. We believe that it is possible for everyone to obtain the same quality care and our mission is centered on making this goal a reality."
