City of Hope, an innovative biomedical research, treatment and educational institution, is dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer and other life-threatening diseases, guided by a compassionate, patient-centered philosophy and supported by a national foundation of humanitarian philanthropy. Founded in 1913, City of Hope is one of only 41 comprehensive cancer centers in the nation, as designated by the National Cancer Institute. Our community includes research associates, scientists, doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, graduate students, fundraising specialists, marketing professionals, volunteers and an extensive support staff. Founded in 1947, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is committed to providing expert, compassionate care to children and adults with cancer, while advancing the understanding, treatment, cure, and prevention of cancer and related diseases. As an affiliate of Harvard Medical School and a Comprehensive Cancer Center designated by the National Cancer Institute, the Institute also provides training for new generations of physicians and scientists, designs programs that promote public health particularly among high-risk and underserved populations and disseminates innovative patient therapies and scientific discoveries in Boston, across the United States and throughout the world.

The founding of the “Black-Eyed Susans Team” organization is solely for the purpose of charitable fundraising to fight cancer in memory of our founder, Susan E. Dougherty.
