HERHealthEQ is driving health equity by providing medical devices and equipment to developing countries for women's health issues. HERHealthEQ's vision is a world where healthcare, medical devices, and equipment are accessible to all women, equally. Women are the cornerstone of the family unit. When a woman becomes ill and does not receive the care she needs, the entire family unit is at greater risk of remaining in a cycle of poverty. We focus on providing equipment involved in the treatment of the top non-communicable diseases (NCDs) that affect the developing world which include cancers affecting women, maternal health, diabetes, and heart disease.

Results for Development Institute

About Us: Our Bridgeport club was founded in 1992, and is part of Soroptimist International of the Americas which was founded in 1921. Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world. A 501(c)(3) organization, Soroptimist relies on charitable contributions to fund its programs. Local members join with almost 100,000 Soroptimists in more than120 countries and territories to contribute time and financial support to community-based projects benefiting women. Soroptimist International has consultative status with the United Nations’ Economic and Social Council, which oversees U.N. activities promoting human rights. In addition to sponsoring the awards programs, our club has participated in community programs focused on various health and human service issues for women and girls, such as the Center for Women and Families, Mi Casa/My Home, Women and Men’s Health Project, Project Courage, and Local Soup Kitchens. Freedom From Fistula Foundation Inc. - US

The Freedom from Fistula Foundation (FFFF) manages and funds projects that deliver maternal health care to vulnerable girls and women across Africa. The foundation treats and cares for those suffering from obstetric fistula by offering free surgeries, free maternity care, safe childbirth and provides programs aimed at prevention, social and psychological support and economic empowerment to those affected. The overall goal of the organization is to completely eradicate obstetric fistulas for women and girls in Africa. The key objectives of the FFFF are: To expand or develop fistula services in Africa, particularly in Kenya, Malawi, Sierra Leone and Madagascar. To finance access to healthcare during pregnancy and labor and to help prevent obstetric fistulas from occurring. To provide education and empowerment to fistula patients. To partner with other organizations and local facilities to improve fistula and maternity care.
