Founded in 2000 by Fr. Thuan and two friends based in San Francisco, CA, the Blind Vietnamese Children Foundation assisted The Lover of the Holy Cross Sisters who had just established Nhat Hong Thi Nghe Home for the Blind in Ho Chi Minh City (1995). Up to the present time with the Foundation’s support the Sisters expanded to nine homes and schools with a total of almost 400 students. The Foundation has also provided funding to maintain the homes, schools, and healthcare centers for visually impaired children administered by other lay or religious groups. The Foundation is governed by a volunteer board of directors and supported by hundreds of friends who give much of their time and wealth throughout the year to assist in BVCF fundraising efforts. Every year the Foundation organized the benefit luncheons or dinners with silent and live auctions, and raffles. A lively family atmosphere blends different cultures and faiths in a single effort to help our very special children live promising lives in Vietnam.

DCI is a non-profit organization working to protect child rights and help families out of the poverty cycle through education, healthcare, and income generating opportunities. DCI also connects American youth to less fortunate children in other countries, educating them about the challenges facing children worldwide and inspiring them to take leadership in humanitarian causes. The American Foundation for Children with AIDS (AFCA) is a non-profit organization providing critical comprehensive services to infected and affected HIV+ children and their caregivers. Our programs are efficient, promoting self-reliance and sustainability. Since 2005, in collaboration with our in-country partners, we have served tens of thousands of families in some of the most underserved and marginalized communities in Africa. Our areas of impact include: medical support, livelihoods, educational support and emergency relief. Currently, AFCA is transforming lives in Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Harvest Children’s Home (HCH) is a real home for 50-70 orphaned children. They sing, play, dream and hope, but 1 thing they don’t have to wonder about any more is: “where do I belong?” Before HCH these children were destitute, lacking the most basic necessities of life. Now they have nutritious meals, clean water, spiritual care, a good education and plenty of love! Their hope is restored!At HCH, we provide orphans with a new family – a multitude of “brothers” and “sisters,” and a caring staff to see that they’re loved and well supervised; a new hope – security, stability and a Christian faith they can build their lives on; and a new future – far different than before - receiving education, skills training and all that they need to succeed.
