The Overseas Press Club Foundation is the 501 (C)(3) charitable organization affiliated with the Overseas Press Club, which was founded in New York City in 1939 by a group of foreign correspondents to improve the profession of international journalism. The Foundation has a broad mandate to improve the media's understanding of international issues and to raise the quality of news-gathering efforts in covering the world. The most tangible expression of this charter is a scholarship program for undergraduate and graduate students in American colleges and universities, who aspire to become foreign correspondents. The program began in 1992 and every year offers $2,000 scholarships to 14 talented student winners of a national essay competition. In 2006, the OPC Foundation began partnering with media organizations to offer internships. The Foundation pays travel and living expenses for interns in foreign bureaus. Six of this year's winners will have internships with Associated Press (Cairo, Johannesburg, and Bangkok) and Reuters (Singapore, Beijing, and Hong Kong). The Foundation feels it is more important than ever to encourage young correspondents to travel and work abroad particularly at a time when many major news organizations have sharply reduced their networks of experienced correspondents around the world.

Our vision is an educated society. Our mission is to educate and train Kenyan women, children and youth by providing resources and support. A primary focus is scholarships for students at the secondary and post-secondary levels who need financial support. Many scholarship students attend St. Francis Xavier Secondary School for Girls in Naivasha, Kenya, the school built with Kenya Help funds. Kenya Help also provides scholarships for boys at Ndingi Secondary School, students attending other Kenyan secondary schools, and high school graduates who need financial help to pursue post-secondary education. In addition, Kenya Help supports social services, youth programs, and other projects benefiting children, youth, and women in Kenya.

The Freedom from Fistula Foundation (FFFF) manages and funds projects that deliver maternal health care to vulnerable girls and women across Africa. The foundation treats and cares for those suffering from obstetric fistula by offering free surgeries, free maternity care, safe childbirth and provides programs aimed at prevention, social and psychological support and economic empowerment to those affected. The overall goal of the organization is to completely eradicate obstetric fistulas for women and girls in Africa. The key objectives of the FFFF are: To expand or develop fistula services in Africa, particularly in Kenya, Malawi, Sierra Leone and Madagascar. To finance access to healthcare during pregnancy and labor and to help prevent obstetric fistulas from occurring. To provide education and empowerment to fistula patients. To partner with other organizations and local facilities to improve fistula and maternity care.

Our purpose is to reduce poverty, bring hope and solidarity to poor communities or individuals in France and worldwide. We bring assistance to families, children and young people but also to the most vulnerable (homelesses, migrants, prisoners etc.). We fight against isolation, help them to find employement and we ensure their social reintegration. We provide emergency responses but also long term support, development aid and we work on the causes of poverty. The action of Secours Catholique finds all its meaning in a global vision of poverty which aims at restoring the human person's dignity and is part and parcel of sustainable development. To do so, six key principles guide this action, both in France and abroad: Promoting the place and words of people living in situations of poverty Making each person a main player of their own development Joining forces with people living in situations of poverty Acting for the development of the human person in all its aspects Acting on the causes of poverty and exclusion Arousing solidarity The actions of Secours Catholique are implemented by a network of local teams of volunteers integrated into the diocesan delegations and supported by the volunteers and employees of the national headquarters. On an international level, Secours Catholique acts in cooperation with its partners of the Caritas Internationalis network. This daily mission led in the field by the local teams and delegations, with the support of national headquarters, pursues three major objectives which aim at exceeding the distribution action and limited aid: Receiving to reply to the primary needs (supplying food and/or health care aid, proposing accommodation, establishing an exchange and a fraternal dialogue, etc) Supporting to restore social ties (bringing together people in difficulty with an aim to reinsertion, encouraging personal initiatives and collective projects, establishing a mutual support helper-receiver of help relationship, etc) Developing to strengthen solidarity (proposing long lasting solutions, establishing a follow-up over the long term, encouraging collective actions carried out by people in difficulty etc.)

Statement of Faith We believe the Bible to be the Word of God, verbally inspired and wholly without error in all that it declares and therefore is the supreme and final authority for faith and life. We believe in the one true God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We also believe in the virgin birth and the Deity of Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, who is also the son of man. We believe the vicarious substitutionary death of Jesus Christ on the cross made atonement for the sin of the world, efficient for all who repent and believe. We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ which insures the resurrection of all believers who have received God’s gift of eternal life. We believe in the imminent return of Christ to this earth to set up His kingdom and to judge the righteous. We believe that man was originally created in the image of God, that he fell into sin through the first Adam, and that he is responsible for all sin committed after reaching the age of accountability and that sin causes him to be separated from God and lost eternally. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells all who receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. We believe that Christians are called and commanded to do good works. We believe that Christians are called to witness for Christ and to preach the gospel to all nations.

The mission of Children of Vietnam (CoV) is to “build brighter futures for poor, orphaned, homeless, disabled and vulnerable children in vietnam” with two overarching goals: a) to assist children and families overcome the cycle of poverty, ill health, and homelessness; b) to provide immediate aid to children and families in crisis. this mission is driven by our founders’ beliefs, which guide our daily efforts: every child deserves to be happy, every child deserves a bright future, every child deserves a future without poverty, every child deserves to develop to his or her full potential, we are making this happen one child, one family, one community at a time, we are doing this by educating, healing, sheltering and nurturing. CoV strives to achieve its goals through six initiatives further outlined below: healthcare, education, housing, nutrition, empowering foundations for women & their children, and hope system of care for children with disabilities. With the dedicated support of its founder, Ben Wilson, who works without pay, CoV’s 13-member board of directors, multiple volunteers, one and a half full-time us-based employee, 4 part-time hourly assistants, and a staff of 9 in-country Vietnamese nationals work to implement these various initiatives at the grass-roots level to provide maximum impact.

The Paul Chester Children's Hope Foundation (PCCHF) is a registered 501(c)(3) charity that provides medical assistance to children and families in developing countries, giving them a chance to live productive lives through well-conceived medical interventions. We perform reconstructive surgery (i.e. club foot and cleft palate repair, burn scar revision, ear tubes, eye surgery, etc.) and work to arrest preventable, curable diseases (e.g. trachoma, glaucoma). The foundation provides highly specialized medical assistance to individuals and families in developing countries where such services are unavailable due to logistics or economic circumstances. The foundation harnesses the expertise of medical professionals and local agencies to identify opportunities for maximum social impact, and then funds and completes the medical or surgical interventions deemed most viable. The PCCHF core base is made up of volunteers - both medical and administrative, which vary from 50-200 in any given year. On the organizational side, the small group is made up of 5-7 dedicated individuals who meet regularly to discuss, plan and pilot missions. Our medical volunteers coordinate, and execute the missions with the assistance of logistics volunteers and in-country counterparts who have requested our assistance. A typical mission takes place over ten days with a team of medical professionals and organizers in collaboration with officials from the host country. The number of surgeries performed is directly linked to funding, number of volunteers and the capacity of the local hospital. For example, a 2003 mission to Ecuador resulted in 110 successful surgeries, with a team of 20 foreign medical volunteers. Safe passage for supplies and staff was provided by the consul general and the first lady of Ecuador. The medical procedures provided largely addressed disfiguring conditions that have a tremendously negative impact on the livelihood of the afflicted individual.

Founded in 2000 by Fr. Thuan and two friends based in San Francisco, CA, the Blind Vietnamese Children Foundation assisted The Lover of the Holy Cross Sisters who had just established Nhat Hong Thi Nghe Home for the Blind in Ho Chi Minh City (1995). Up to the present time with the Foundation’s support the Sisters expanded to nine homes and schools with a total of almost 400 students. The Foundation has also provided funding to maintain the homes, schools, and healthcare centers for visually impaired children administered by other lay or religious groups. The Foundation is governed by a volunteer board of directors and supported by hundreds of friends who give much of their time and wealth throughout the year to assist in BVCF fundraising efforts. Every year the Foundation organized the benefit luncheons or dinners with silent and live auctions, and raffles. A lively family atmosphere blends different cultures and faiths in a single effort to help our very special children live promising lives in Vietnam.

Sharing their hardships and desires, to learn from their skills and perseverance, and to advocate against everything that excludes them and that does not recognize their rights as human beings. Conviction. To overcome poverty and injustice in our continent is possible. This certainty gives us the determination to work tirelessly and together with others to accomplish it. Placing challenging and high goals, as well as taking the necessary risks to go beyond all the fatalisms that surround us. Excellence. All of our work must be of high quality, given that it is intended for those less fortunate. Our work is rigorous, punctual, always creative and innovative. It is respectful of the commitments, perseverant in the face of difficulties, intelligent to recognize mistakes and correct them, and proactive in the search for solutions to the problems that arise along the way. Diversity. At TECHO, all young people are welcome, regardless of ethnic or social backgrounds, religious belief, political choices or sexual orientation. We are sure that our differences are an asset in joining forces for that which unites us: the fight against extreme poverty in our continent. Optimism. We look at the future with hope, without being naive, because we believe that it is possible to defeat the injustice that we see today. We move forward towards this future working with joy, because as young people we recognize what a privilege it is to dedicate our lives to make our world a more human and equal place for everyone.

Raining Hope raises and distributes funds in order to provide food, clothing, shelter, healthcare and education for children & families in need in Uganda. But more importantly, they are shown the love of Jesus Christ and taught to share that love with others. Many Ugandan children are without hope, living on the streets, without love and guidance. But the children of Raining Hope have been rescued from that life and given an opportunity to become, well-loved, well-trained, well-educated servants of God. They are focused students who are thankful for the opportunity to get a good education. They are joy-filled followers of Jesus who take seriously the opportunity to impact others' lives for God. They are worshipers who live for God's glory. They are servants, who take nothing for granted & are passionate about sharing God's love with others, in tangible ways. Raining Hope is making a life-long investment to raise up a generation of people who will be used by God to change Uganda and the world. Mezu International Foundation (MIF) has a long-standing and distinguished history. Its historical origins stem from over 40 years of philanthropy. Until its recent incorporation, Mezu International Foundation has variously sought to facilitate the employment for African local indigenes, educating children and young adults , providing food and basic necessities for orphanages and contributing to the equipping and upkeep of medical facilities, through encouraging Agriculture and production of local fruits and crops. Mezu International Foundation has given small business start-up loans free to numerous locals to begin independent small businesses in trading, farming, craftsmanship, mechanical shops, tailoring, baking business. The Foundation has given free books and tuition scholarships to cover the cost of education from elementary through college for young people in need. MI Foundation has been a leader in the provision of aid to deserving and exceptional students as well as low-income students for higher education. Specifically, Our Lady’s Food Kitchen was established in 2004 to provide food and aid to families in need. It is expanding its mission by providing economic independence to women through trade and business ventures. Medical Missions are undertaken during which US trained physicians, pharmacists and several volunteers provide free physicals, clinical care and medications to local inhabitants in eastern Nigeria. Since 2007, a Maternal Child Division was inaugurated to provide support in the area of prenatal care for women with high risk pregnancies and provide aid to neonatal intensive care units in need. Also the Foundation seeks to create awareness and educate the masses through programs that promote ways to reduce maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. Articles of clothing and food have also been provided to communities and individuals that are less privileged in Eastern Nigera. In 2012, Mezu International Foundation, in order to be better able to provide more effective aid to more needy people and expand its outreach beyond borders, obtained a non-profit status. Currently, the Foundation is using Eastern Nigeria as a model to promote its programs in the areas of education, good health care and economic empowerment in Africa.
