Despite significant reductions across the nation, tobacco use is still the number one cause of preventable death in the United States, killing more than 400,000 people every year. Since being established in 1999, the American Legacy Foundation (Legacy) has developed a comprehensive understanding of the tobacco crisis and the many issues that surround it. Legacy is the nation's largest and most effective independent public health charity dedicated to tobacco use prevention and smoking cessation. Our mission is to build a world where young people reject tobacco and anyone can quit. By giving young people the facts and information they need to reject tobacco and adult smokers the tools they need to quit and stay quit, Legacy is helping people live longer, healthier lives. Legacy employs community intervention and population-based public education strategies to reach current and potential tobacco users, customizing our approach to recognize, respect and address cultural differences.

The Community Hospice is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization providing high quality end-of-life care to residents of eight counties covering over 4,000 square miles in Upstate New York State. Some of the most vulnerable people in our community are those who are struggling with advanced illness, facing the end of life, and recovering from the loss of a loved one. The Community Hospice is committed to serving these people. While insurance reimbursements cover most costs, they do not fund the programs and services that reach out to care for Hospice patients and families in a comprehensive way. No one is turned away due to financial need. That is where your active support comes in. You can join the caregiving team by considering a donation to The Community Hospice. Contributions provide funds for community bereavement services, community awareness, educational programs, and special services so that Hospice care is readily available, fully understood, and appropriately utilized by those in need. We are an organization created by parents of children diagnosed with rare forms of Epilepsy and Autism as a result of a change in the SCN2A gene. Our vision is to find effective treatments and a cure for SCN2A related disorders. Our mission is to improve the lives of those affected by SCN2A related disorders through research, public awareness, family support and patient advocacy. We are a registered 501(c)(3) organization.

To improve the quality of life of those affected by PCD and to develop the means to find a cure.

End Well is dedicated to the belief that all people should experience the end of life in a way that matches their values and goals. When faced with issues of mortality, we often suffer needlessly for a variety of reasons, from cultural and clinical to matters of access. End Well brings together a multidisciplinary community that unites design, technology, health, policy and activist initiative to transform how the world thinks about caregiving, grief, illness and the end of life experience with the ultimate goal of creating a future where ending well becomes a measure of living well.

EASING ANXIETY, FEARS AND STRUGGLES

Our mission is to improve quality of life for people suffering from dry eye disease and ocular surface pain disorders.Our articles of incorporation describe our purpose as follows: "The purpose of the Corporation is to help alleviate the suffering of people with dry eye diseases by (i) educating patients and their loved ones about the diseases and their treatments, (ii) providing patients with information and tools to advocate for their needs effectively, (iii) educating the medical community about advances in dry eye assessment and care, (iv) raising public awareness of dry eye disease risk factors, and (v) encouraging and supporting scientific research that focuses on the priorities of dry eye disease patients."
