ROYAL OTTAWA FOUNDATION FOR MENTAL HEALTH

As the largest specialized or 'tertiary' centre east of Toronto our programs are aimed at treating people with complex and serious mental illnesses that are often resistant to conventional treatments. In addition to inpatient beds, the majority of these programs feature day treatment options and outreach activities for patients living in the community. Each and every one of us has a personal connection to mental illness given that one out of every five people in Canada is affected. They are our mothers, brothers, colleagues and friends – they are those we know and love and we want to ensure they receive the very best care when they need it. The need for support has never been greater -please donate as generously as you can today to help us make a difference.

Partners In Health

Our mission is a preferential option for the poor in health care. By establishing long-term relationships with sister organizations based in settings of poverty, Partners In Health strives to achieve two overarching goals: to bring benefits of modern medical science to those most in need of them and to serve as an antidote to despair. We draw on the resources of the world's leading medical and academic institutions and on the lived experience of the world's poorest and sickest communities. At its root, our mission is both medical and moral. It is based on solidarity, rather than charity alone. When our patients are ill and have no access to care, our team of health professionals, scholars, and activists will do whatever it takes to make them well- just as we would do if a member of our own families, or we ourselves, were ill.

American Sexual Health Association

Shalem Mental Health Network

"Shalem" (pronounced ShaLAME) is a beautiful Hebrew word which means "wholeness", "restoration" and "peace". In that spirit, and driven by such core Gospel values as healing, restoration and community for all, we seek to come alongside those who are hurting and vulnerable. We believe that all of us are wounded in some way but that healing and restoration is also possible. Shalem offers two ways of accompaniment: 1. Individual, couple and family counselling. We also offer specialized therapy for children and youth who struggle with attachment disorders and their caregivers. We deeply honour and respect all those who embark on a journey of healing. 2. Equipping and supporting communities, including faith communities, to better embrace the needs of people who struggle with emotional distress and/or mental illness. Our dream includes developing services which help to define a new, mutually beneficial relationship between professional mental health programs and community.
