Fox Valley Therapy Dog Club

They provide canine-assisted therapy to the public in schools, hospitals, libraries, nursing, and healing facilities and for other community organizations throughout the Fox Valley area. In achieving this mission, the club also functions to further advance and refine the therapy skills of experienced handlers and their canine counterparts. This is accomplished through participation in seminars, specialized training sessions, and unique educational opportunities that build our proficiency and strengthen the dog and handler bond in a fun, encouraging and supportive environment.

Holton's Heroes

Holton's Heroes serves the community at large by connecting children who have suffered a life-threatening, post-birth brain injury with therapeutic tools and devices, enriching activities, educational information and resources for them and their loved ones. Holton's Heroes helps children and their families get the tools they need to improve their overall physical and emotional development in addition to their quality of life. Holton's Heroes strives to be a constant reminder to families dealing with a brain injury that they are not alone in this fight. It is this premise that drives our mission.

Musella Foundation For Brain Tumor Research & Information

Brain tumors are now the leading cause of cancer deaths of children and young adults. The emotional and financial devastation it causes to families is unacceptable. The cure will eventually be found. We intend to speed up the process by speeding up the exchange of information - networking with the researchers, patient groups and other nonprofits; raising money for research; advocating for change;  hosting conferences and running research projects.   Until that happens, we will help support families dealing with brain tumors by educating them on the choices they have to make, help find options for them, and even help them get access to the treatments they need with both our advocacy program and our copayment assistance program

The Menkes Foundation

This foundation was formed to promote awareness of children afflicted with Menkes disease. Menkes is a rare genetic disease that is commonly missed by the medical community because the signs and symptoms at birth and in early infancy are subtle and often confused with other diseases. Early treatment of symptoms is crucial for these children to maintain a sense of normalcy during their infancy and early childhood. Because of this we encourage prenatal genetic testing for neurological diseases. Our goal is to achieve improvements in Menkes research, healthcare, education, and community involvement through medical conferences, advertising, fundraising events and other similar endeavors. We would like to provide an example of brotherhood between friends and families who have lost loved ones to this disease. This can be achieved through a commitment to common charitable activities in honor of their loved one. This organization was founded in the memory and spirit of our son, Wesley Quinn Eckman to benefit everyone who suffers from Menkes.
