Founded in Detroit, Michigan by a priest and two recovering individuals, SHAR has grown and evolved from a small therapeutic community starting at a local parish to a multi-million dollar human service agency. We serve approximately 6,000 individuals annually through our various service centers. SHAR is a federally recognized 501(c)3, accredited by CARF, licensed by the State of Michigan, and approved by BCBSM and other insurance carriers.
