THE CROODS, DESPICABLE ME, THE LORAX… Ask any child to name their favorite movie and one of these titles might pop up. There’s nothing like seeing a child’s face light up as the previews end and the movie that he/she has been anticipating for weeks is finally about to begin! But what about the children who are battling life-threatening illnesses who are unable to visit a movie theater? LOLLIPOP makes it possible for hospitalized children around the nation to see the season’s biggest blockbuster movies* at the same time as their friends and siblings. Our desire is to create a fun escape from the daily reality of the illnesses and medical treatments these children face. And in the process, LOLLIPOP hopes to deliver a “normal” experience for the entire family. We believe hope and laughter are the key ingredients in having the strength to fight and to cope with hospitalization. Most of these pediatric patients – ranging in age from 2-20 years – are normally deprived of the movie-going experience, as they are unable to leave the hospital for weeks or months on end, if ever. Since LOLLIPOP’s first screening in 2002, we have screened over 300 films and now reach hospitalized children in over 18 states nationwide. In 2005, we expanded the program to include other entertainment mediums like TV movies, shows, and our Rhythm of Hope® music program, as well as collaborations with other organizations to provide movie-themed arts and crafts pre-show activities.

Money raised through the Coronavirus Relief Fund will be split evenly amongst CDC Foundation, International Medical Corps and Direct Relief to support first responders & medical professionals working on the coronavirus globally. CDC Foundation EIN: 58-2106707 Funds raised by the CDC Foundation through their Emergency Response Fund will be used to meet fast-emerging needs identified by CDC to help respond to the public health threat posed by this virus. These include additional support for state and local health departments, support for the global response, logistics, communications, data management, personal protective equipment, critical response supplies and more. International Medical Corps EIN: 95-3949646 International Medical Corps is taking an agency-wide approach to their response, providing their 7,000+ staff members in more than 30 countries with clinical guidance and planning documents designed to help them screen patients, enhance infection prevention and control (IPC), and protect health providers. They also have developed specific training materials to help staff and healthcare providers better respond to the virus. Direct Relief EIN: 95-1831116 Direct Relief is coordinating with public health authorities, nonprofit organizations and businesses in China and the U.S. to provide personal protective equipment and other items to health workers responding to coronavirus (COVID-19). Direct Relief is also staging personal protective equipment with regional response agencies across the world, including in the Caribbean and South America through the Pan American Health Organization. The Izzy Foundation provides services and support to those families with children who have debilitating diseases. Our Foundation has a unique understanding of the hardships that families go through during long hospital stays, because we have been there, too. Our founders, many of our board members, and our directors have also sat in hospital waiting rooms for days, weeks and months while our children receive exceptional care. The Foundation hopes to continue to develop spaces and programs for children with cancer and their families that will enable them to continue to live, love, laugh and play.
