PTV's clients are victims of state-sponsored, paramilitary, or tribal violence whose only 'crime' was to belong to a particular tribe, clan, political party, social group, or religion. We also serve victims of female genital mutilation, rape, trafficking, and sexual preference persecution. As the only torture treatment program in the Greater Los Angeles, an area that is home to the largest population of refugees and asylum seekers in the United States, PTV serves clients come from 65 countries in Africa, Latin America, the Middle east, and Asia.
The mission of AVDA (Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse) is to end family violence in the Houston area by advocating for the safety and self-determination of victims, promoting accountability for abusers and fostering a community response to abuse.
Cops Care for Kids is an organization whose mission is to provide financial and emotional support for kids with serious illnesses and disabilities. We are police officers in New York City trying to put a smile on a child's face through various means, including toys, a visit from local law enforcement, and honoring the child with a badge and plaque for their bravery. A little support can go a long way to help a child's state of mind and speed up their recovery during their time of distress.
