Breaking Free

Breaking Free is a Minnesota-based non-profit and social justice/social change organization founded in 1996 by Vednita Carter. Every year, Breaking Free helps over 500 women escape systems of prostitution and sexual exploitation through advocacy, direct services, housing, and education. Our main offices are located in St. Paul, Minnesota, with a branch in Minneapolis. Breaking Free's doors are open to women throughout Minnesota and the United States.

SurvJustice

SurvJustice increases the prospect of justice for survivors of sexual violence by providing survivor assistance and holding both perpetrators and enablers accountable. Our work focuses on the enforcement of victims’ rights within campus, administrative, civil, and criminal processes. SurvJustice also empowers activists who seek systematic change in their communities by providing resources and guidance. We offer a variety of comprehensive trainings as well as policy development for institutions responding to sexual violence, working on all fronts to decrease the prevalence of sexual violence.

Eastside Legal Assistance Program

Everyone should have access to legal help. We empower people in King County, Washington to achieve fair and equal justice through free civil legal aid and community education. We are a nonprofit dedicated to working with people facing domestic violence, housing, financial, healthcare, immigration and other issues that need a legal solution. We also educate communities about their legal rights. We work for free to solve legal issues and provide resources for our community members because not everyone can afford a lawyer.
