The Just Ask Prevention Project seeks to inoculate communities against the threat of human trafficking, an emerging public health crisis.

The past thirty years of protecting children, ages newborn through thirteen years, in crisis situations has made one thing perfectly clear: our job will never be done and there will always be more we can do. This mindset has led us to making great strides in preventing child abuse and neglect by extending case management services to the whole family when a child is admitted into our emergency shelter. Our Emergency Shelter services are essential in keeping children safe and secure while opening up a doorway to address the underlying issues that lead to child abuse and neglect. Critical case management (parenting classes, referrals to financial management classes and substance abuse programs, and a collaborative network of agencies and community resources) helps us to alleviate the immediate crisis situation while focusing on eliminating the cause of that situation.  Prevention is a key component to ending the violent cycle of child abuse and neglect. Our STEP Parenting program prevents child abuse and neglect by teaching caregivers valuable parenting skills and connecting them to critical community resources. Teen parents gain job skills, education, and parenting and life skills through our No Kidding: Straight Talk from Teen Parents program.

KidsFirst’s mission is to treat and prevent child abuse and neglect through Education, Advocacy, and Counseling, to empower and strengthen children and families. We are dedicated to helping families by providing them with the tools they need to cope with difficult life circumstances before they become overwhelming. With counseling and family resource centers in Auburn and Roseville, our programs target the most vulnerable children, families and neighborhoods. We strengthen families by Educating, Advocating and Changing Lives. Our programs include Wellness, Information and Referral and Education and Outreach.

The mission of the Wichita Family Crisis Center is to eliminate domestic violence by supporting survivors through shelter, education and advocacy. Each year, the organization serves nearly 1,300 women, children, and men who are fleeing this violent crime.

Crisis Center for Women-IVAS is a protector for female domestic violence victims and their dependent children. They advocate to empower women to break free of domestic violence by making informed, positive choices that will redirect their lives.

SOHO works to transform the lives of children of child-headed households and those at risk of abuse and exploitation through a holistic, Christ-centered program to heal, educate, nurture and empower them to be self-sustaining.

Their mission is to equip the Church with a vision for authentic community, where responsibility, accountability, and compassion are second nature and caring for children and adult survivors of abuse is non-negotiable.

The primary concern of Ark Crisis Children’s Center is the safety of the children and families they serve. Ark also understands the important role we play in providing critical child care in times of crisis. The need for their services is greater than ever before. Ark has always provided free care to children whose families have nowhere else to turn. This includes working parents who have no access to safe, affordable care for their children.
