PLAY International is a charity founded in 1999 on a conviction: sport is a source of solutions to our societal challenges. Its mission is to cocreate and implement education and inclusion projects for children and youth in vulnerable situations, using sport and sport games as educational tools. The NGO works in particular on issues such as access to and retention in school, gender equalitý, community reconciliation, health prevention, environmental education, living together, changing the way we look at disability... Since its creation, it has implemented educational and humanitarian projects, in France and internationally in 20 countries, for the benefit of nearly one million children.

PeaceTrees Vietnam is dedicated to the healing of communities impacted by the consequences of war. We sponsor the removal of explosive remnants of war, provide survivor assistance and mine risk education, promote community building projects including kindergartens and libraries, and engage in citizen diplomacy.

About Us: Our Bridgeport club was founded in 1992, and is part of Soroptimist International of the Americas which was founded in 1921. Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world. A 501(c)(3) organization, Soroptimist relies on charitable contributions to fund its programs. Local members join with almost 100,000 Soroptimists in more than120 countries and territories to contribute time and financial support to community-based projects benefiting women. Soroptimist International has consultative status with the United Nations’ Economic and Social Council, which oversees U.N. activities promoting human rights. In addition to sponsoring the awards programs, our club has participated in community programs focused on various health and human service issues for women and girls, such as the Center for Women and Families, Mi Casa/My Home, Women and Men’s Health Project, Project Courage, and Local Soup Kitchens. To manifest film and media projects that explore our shared humanity and foster an appreciation of the natural world. Our media education program works with filmmakers from under-served communities and balances intensive film production with important skills training while enabling young filmmakers to share their stories and ideas with the world.

The goal of the Gayle Lyn Kliever Student Fund is to raise and distribute scholarships directly to worthy Tanzanian students. Scholarship help will be given to those students with ability, motivation and potential. Recipients may be of any age. Priority is given to those with little or no family presence. The fund will also support worthwhile educational projects in Tanzania.

Soroptimist members belong to local clubs, which determine the focus of service to their communities. The Raleigh Club is focused on improving the economic independence of women and ending violence against women.  In addition, Soroptimists participate in organization-wide programs that include the Soroptimist Women's Opportunity Awards, Soroptimist Club Grants for Women and Girls, the Soroptimist Workplace Campaign to End Domestic Violence, the Soroptimist Ruby Award: For Women Helping Women, and the Soroptimist Violet Richardson Award.  International projects have included partnerships with Women for Women International, and through Project SIerra, Hope and Homes for Children in Sierra Leone.

As set forth in the Articles of Incorporation, the New Opportunities for Wounded, Widows and Orphans of War (NOW-WOW) shall, inter alia, conceive, study, investigate, formulate and implement programs and projects for one or more of the following charitable activities: * Rehabilitation of wounded, widows, widowers and orphans of wars who have lost sustenance due to wars; * Organizing and administering self-help projects for wounded, widows, widowers as a means of income-generation and self-sustenance; * Providing for the educational needs of war-affected children, such as school supplies and/or scholarships; * Functioning as a liaison between other charitable agencies, organizations and governments that are willing to provide for on the one hand, and, the poor and down-trodden living in the war-ravaged areas and in need of assistance with their living on the other hand; * Continuous monitoring of the living conditions of the general populace in the war-ravaged areas.

We are a privately-owned voluntary foundation seeking to promote the development of low-income areas in the Republic of Guatemala, especially for those people who live in the rural areas of the highlands, by innovative projects avoiding patriarchy to guaranteea better living standard. All of this under a sustainable development framework with absolute respect for human dignity, culture and traditions.
