SAFEchild’s mission is to eliminate child abuse in Wake County by helping adults and children create nurturing environments free from abuse and neglect. SAFEchild is the only nonprofit child abuse prevention agency in Wake County working directly with families. SAFEchild offers parent education and support services to families to prevent abuse and neglect, and changes the long-term effects of abuse if it has occurred. The goal for each family turning to SAFEchild is the same: To build a stronger family and create a healthy, nurturing environment that enables children to thrive.

Days for Girls is turning periods into pathways: We increase access to menstrual care and education by developing global partnerships, cultivating Social Entrepreneurs, mobilizing volunteers and innovating sustainable solutions that shatter stigma and limitations for women and girls.

To pragmatically facilitate the provision of quality health, quality education for children, skill acquisition and training for Women and Young Girls, complemented with life-enhancing infrastructures and social amenities towards improved lifestyles for the Less Privileged in sub-urban and Rural Communities.

Center of Hope is a refuge of peaceful existence providing innovative and compassionate direct advocacy, therapeutic counseling, and residential services to victims of domestic abuse, sexual violence, stalking, and human trafficking. As a leading resource for system change, Center of Hope’s goal is to provide meaningful and effective support while addressing the attitudes and behaviors which allow violence to continue in our community. Our comprehensive program ensures that the needs of the victims we serve are met in a holistic and compassionate manner by equipping and empowering them with the skills they need to move beyond the trauma and onto the fulfilling lives they deserve.

The Advocacy Project - A Voice for the Voiceless The Advocacy Project (AP) helps marginalized communities around the world take action against the root causes of their disempowerment in a way that benefits society as a whole and produces social change. To do this, we partner with community-based advocates who represent these communities and share their problems. Our support for partners is innovative and effective. First, we deploy Peace Fellows (experienced graduate students) to help partners tell their story, launch campaigns, and strengthen their organization: we have deployed 274 Peace Fellows since 2003, and in the process given our Fellows a unique experience. Second, we help partners to raise funds and manage their campaigns: we have raised over $2.5 million for partners, and are currently seeking funds through Global Giving for exciting projects in Nepal, Vietnam and Uganda. Third, we promote the work of partners internationally, using new methods of story-telling such as advocacy quilting: over 300 women have produced embroidered panels for our quilts, which have been shown throughout North America and Europe. Pennsylvanians for Human Life is an educational organization dedicated to the protection of human life from conception until natural death. We recognize that the greatest threat to human life is the lack of information about the biological, intellectual and social uniqueness of every human person.

We focus on improving access to health and education for mothers and children, and protection and support for children who live on the street. Our work benefits Nepal's poorest and most socially excluded specifically Children and mothers living in isolated rural communities Children and families living in urban slums Children living outside of parental care, including street and working children Child victims of abuse sexual abuse and exploitation We work in partnership with local communities, NGOs and the Nepali government, providing financial, technical and capacity building support in areas such as Social Mobilisation: engaging with communities to increase awareness and demand for services, such as healthcare and primary education; Advocacy: supporting local communities to address the rights of excluded children, families and communities; Local Capacity-Building: sharing skills, knowledge and experience to empower local organisations, children, families and communities to build their capacity to address their issues themselves ; Local Service Strengthening: working to increase the effectiveness, quality and accountability of existing services by identifying gaps, creating demand and providing technical support; Service Development and Support: supporting the development of services in situations where communities are beyond the reach of mainstream provision.
