About Us: Our Bridgeport club was founded in 1992, and is part of Soroptimist International of the Americas which was founded in 1921. Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world. A 501(c)(3) organization, Soroptimist relies on charitable contributions to fund its programs. Local members join with almost 100,000 Soroptimists in more than120 countries and territories to contribute time and financial support to community-based projects benefiting women. Soroptimist International has consultative status with the United Nations’ Economic and Social Council, which oversees U.N. activities promoting human rights. In addition to sponsoring the awards programs, our club has participated in community programs focused on various health and human service issues for women and girls, such as the Center for Women and Families, Mi Casa/My Home, Women and Men’s Health Project, Project Courage, and Local Soup Kitchens. Providence Connections, Inc., a ministry sponsored by the Sisters of Divine Providence, strengthens families and enriches lives through comprehensive education and developmental opportunities for parents and children.

Invisible Girl Project's mission is to END GENDERCIDE (the systematic killing of females) in India. Invisible Girl Project raises global awareness concerning the loss of female lives in India, pursues justice for lives lost, empowers women, and assists Indian partners in the rescue of and care for vulnerable Indian girls.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of New Jersey provides a voice for abused and neglected children by empowering a statewide network of county-based CASA programs. Working through community volunteers , these programs advocate on behalf of children in foster care and other out-of-home placements to ensure their well-being and ultimate placement in safe and nurturing permanent homes.

Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls (WMRC) is a non-profit music and mentoring program that empowers girls, women and/or gender non-binary youth and adults through music education, volunteerism, and activities that foster self-respect, leadership skills, creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.

She’s the First fights for a world where every girl chooses her own future. We team up with local organizations to make sure girls are educated, respected, and heard.

We work to curb the needless removal of children from everyone they know and love and the unnecessary placement of those children in foster care, often when family poverty is confused with "neglect." We do this not because such removal harms parents, but because of the enormous harm the misuse and overuse of foster care does to children.

For the better part of 100 years, Soroptimist has been working to empower women and girls throughout the world. Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. Over 30,000 members in 20 countries and territories participate in the Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women; Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls; and local projects tailored to meet the community needs of women and girls.

KidsVoice advocates in court and in the community to ensure a safe and permanent home for abused, neglected, and at-risk children.

CASA of Franklin County's vision is to ensure that every abused and neglected child has a voice in court in order to make a positive impact on the child and community. CASA recruits, screens, trains and supports community volunteers to be guardians ad litem advocating for abused, neglected and dependent children in the juvenile court system.

The Julian Center empowers survivors of domestic and sexual violence, strives to end the generational cycle of violence and creates a community where every individual is safe and respected. Since 1975, they have assisted more than 66,000 survivors and have educated more than 300,000 others on the causes of domestic and sexual violence and its impact on their community.

To protect, assist and empower victims of family violence and sexual assault while challenging and changing social systems that tolerate and perpetuate abuse.
