GAPPS' Mission is to Improve Birth Outcomes Worldwide. Globally, prematurity is the leading cause of death for newborns. Additionally, each year a staggering 2.6 million infants die just minutes or hours before birth — and in many cases of stillbirth, the loss is compounded when the mother also dies. GAPPS is leading a collaborative, global effort to increase awareness and accelerate innovative research and interventions that will improve maternal, newborn and child health outcomes around the world.

MAKAIA is a non-profit organization strengthens capacities for social development through technology, innovation and international cooperation. Our vision is that every person and organization has knowledge and information to increase opportunities to transform themselves and their communities. MAKAIA means "to build" or "make" in Miskito (Indigenous Language from Honduras). The name represents MAKAIAs objective of building alliances and relationships oriented to the social and economic development.

Our mission is to share the critical role of plants, gardens, and green spaces while helping to create healthy, livable communities and a sustainable planet.The AHS fulfills its mission through educational programming, The American Gardener magazine, Great American Gardeners Awards, Reciprocal Admissions Program, National Children & Youth Garden Symposium, Travel Study Program, and exemplary gardens at our national headquarters, River Farm. AHS work is national in scope.
