To attain gender equality in a Ugandan local community through promoting the social, political, educational and economic participation of women and children in community development programs. SCOEN strives to create a future in which all Ugandan women will be viewed and treated equally as men in all aspects of life; political, economic, social, educational and culturally. We will also seek to continue our role as advocates of children and women's rights, promoter of their capacities and driving force of social change, promoting their participation in the decisions that affect their lives, and amplifying their voices for peace and security at the regional, national and global levels.

Reporters Without Borders USA (RWB USA) is the U.S. office of the global organization, Reporters Sans Frontieres, a leading defender of freedom of information with almost 30 years of experience. A core belief of Reporters Without Borders is that only through freedom of information can one verify the existence of all the other freedoms. Without free circulation of information, it is impossible to strengthen human rights protection, advance government accountability, and improve the reach and the quality of social justice and civil liberties. At RWB, we are defending information, defending reporters and citizen reporters (netizens) whose work benefits ALL citizens.

A free and democratic press willing to explore the role of religion as an essential part of public life is one of the founding principles of The Media Project. The mission of 501c(3) organization includes helping journalists develop the skills needed to engage in an intellectually honest and critical approach to subjects related to religion, ethics and values to enrich and deepen coverage of religion -- regardless of the reporter's personal faith. Since it's founding, The Media Project has developed a worldwide network of journalists who often submit ideas for conferences and workshops most needed in the countries in which they live and work. The programs are open to journalists of all faith traditions.

CuriOdyssey, a science park for children, incorporates the foundations of the former Coyote Point Museum, but with a new vision. We are a stellar learning center that offers children a comprehensive introduction to the sciences. Our interactive science exhibits, exciting wildlife encounters, and engaging education programs give children authentic learning experiences that help develop an appreciation of the role of science in our lives. We provide the tools and experiences for children to learn and discover the fundamentals of physics, chemistry, biology, and geology by engaging them directly with scientific phenomena – animals, air, sound, water, plants, magnetism, and more. Through such interactions, we help to educate and inspire future leaders and innovators.

In the aftermath of the Challenger accident, the crew’s families came together, firmly committed to the belief that they must carry on the spirit of their loved ones by continuing the Challenger crew’s educational mission. Their efforts resulted in the creation of Challenger Center for Space Science Education. Challenger Center and its global network of Challenger learning centers use space-themed simulated learning and role-playing strategies to help students bring their classroom studies to life and cultivate skills needed for future success, such as problem solving, critical thinking, communication and teamwork. A not-for-profit 501(c)(3) education organization, Challenger Center reaches hundreds of thousands of students, and tens of thousands of teachers every year. Pathways to Safety International empowers victims of interpersonal & gender based violence abroad. Pathways undertakes the global challenge of assisting victims who are enduring extreme suffering in isolated situations where support seems minimal and many obstacles block the path to safety. Services are provided 24/7/365 via technology on a global scale to American victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking and forced marriage. This is achieved via an international toll free crisis line, 833-SAFE-833, accessible from over 120 countries, serving a population estimated at 9 million American civilians living overseas, 80 million Americans traveling overseas, and the 450,000 American military personnel and their dependents.

We strive to contribute to a world where urban and rural communities take responsible care of their environment, work consciously to conserve and protect natural resources in sustainable ways, and preserve historical assets and heritage for the benefit of future generations. Our mission is three-pronged. Conservation: Create significant and sustainable environmental change, specifically focusing on climate change, water conservation, food security, waste recycling, sustainable energy, preservation of endangered fauna and flora and greening projects that incorporate poverty alleviation and sustainable livelihoods. Education: Increase capacity and expertise of the southern African environment community, by transferring skills, providing mentorship and building supportive networks for the development and sustainability of the environment sector. Innovation: Use modern technology (e.g. GIS) capacity to enhance conservation efforts and to pioneer socio-ecological approaches to protected area management.

The Tumaini Center seeks to engage vulnerable youth in a revolutionary new educational model that breaks down educational barriers faced by street youth and other vulnerable youth in a changing society, leverage their inherent resourcefulness, resilience and independence, and equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to not only get off the streets but to have successful and productive careers in their community. The program empowers them with hope, knowledge, skills, opportunities and resources necessary for them to earn a positive livelihood off the streets. These livelihood opportunities include learning vocational skills like motor vehicle mechanics, metalwork and fabrication, carpentry, masonry, solar power installation, wind power installation, recycling, entrepreneurship skills, enabling them to access employment, or start a business, reunite with their families, live communally or independently. Tumaini Center supports and empowers them towards their chosen future.

Childline Kenya's mission is to promote children's rights and enhance child protection in Kenya by delivering quality services through harnessing the power of ICT innovations. The organisation was established in 2004 with a remit to provide a 24-hour toll-free helpline for counselling and referral services to children, young persons and their families. We have since added chat and email counselling to our services and have developed a broad portfolio of outreach and educational projects. By offering a communication channel to children in distress, Childline Kenya aspires to become an organisation that not only extends support and sanctuary to victims of abuse, but one that adds weight to the message that crimes against children will not go unchallenged. To this end, we work with a network of members and partners from across the child welfare and children's rights community to offer the full spectrum of support and advice. Our vision is a society where every child is heard and children's rights and dignity are upheld at all times. The Mission of the Nantucket Maria Mitchell Association is promotion of the legacy of Maria Mitchell and exploration, education and enjoyment of Nantucket’s land, waters and skies beyond. In fulfilling our mission we recognize the historic persona of Maria Mitchell, the foremost American woman scientist and educator of the 19th century, and her potential impact on contemporary thought by passing on her legacy of intellectual curiosity, respect for and love of nature, learning by doing, and the ideal of individualism. Maria Mitchell’s contributions to astronomy, science, and education are the basis for our continuing tradition of high quality research and teaching which inspires today’s learners and tomorrow’s scientists. The NMMA provides scientific resources and educational programs for the community, uses Nantucket Island as an exceptional natural laboratory in which to study science and the environment, and maintains research and/or representative collections of Nantucket’s biodiversity. We strive to delight our members, supporters, and visitors by providing high quality programs, services, and facilities. We strive to ensure our financial viability and the preservation of our buildings and important collections so that current and future generations can share in this legacy. We strive to collaborate with other institutions (both on- and off-island) to share relevant organizational assets to accomplish these objectives, obtain cost efficiencies, and reduce our impact on the environment.

Over 600 million Indians defecate in the open every day because they have no toilet. This practice cripples health, economic, and social outcomes. Open defecation (OD) causes the spread of infectious diseases that kill an estimated 300,000 children under five every year. The economic costs of OD total nearly $54 billion lost each year in India, with rural households bearing the highest per capita loss. Furthermore, women and girls who lack convenient access to toilets often miss school and work while they are menstruating. SHRI ends open defecation in India by constructing community toilet facilities that are free to use. They include eight toilets for women, eight for men, hand-washing stations, and a biogas digester (a large underground tank). Human excrement is stored in this tank where it decomposes to produce methane gas. SHRI uses this energy source to produce electricity, which powers a water filtration plant that uses a patented resin filter to remove arsenic, fluoride, iron, and bacterial contaminants. The resulting potable water is sold for $0.008 per liter, less than half the current market cost, helping SHRI to generate revenue to offset its monthly facility O&M costs. This ensures facility cleanliness, a key predictor of sustained toilet use. Thus SHRI fights alongside rural Indian communities to end open defecation as a key step in the struggle for health equity, and social and economic justice.

US STEM Foundation is a catalyst for success, bringing together industry professionals and scholastically curious students to foster growth and friendships that last a lifetime. ​ US STEM subsidizes, organizes, develops and delivers hands-on technical activities for our students. A vast number of our students have gone off to top universities across the United States in pursuit of STEM degrees. These students stay active as leaders in their schools, professional societies, and communities. US STEM also provides scholarships to students with financial needs for higher education in STEM fields. ​ We have nurtured unfocused youth to grow and achieve high honors in a broad range of academics. Our reserved students step out of their shell into technical leadership roles. ​ There is a dire need for the services the US STEM Foundation provides as evident by the critical unmet demand for engineers, scientists, and technology specialists - a core challenge US STEM is embracing.
