Dominica American Relief & Development Association

DARDA is an acronym for the Dominica-American Relief and Development Association, Inc. The association was organized on June 28, 1981 by a group of concerned Dominicans living in and around the New York area. After the destruction wrought by Hurricane David various individuals and groups were involved in raising funds to assist in the rebuilding of Dominica. It was from this effort, and at the request of Bam and Wilfred Shillingford, that the idea of a new organization originated. This group, originally known as "Friends of Dominica," then went about the business of attaining official status. On September 25, 1981 it was duly established and registered as a not-for-profit corporation, officially known as the Dominica-American Relief and Development Association, Inc. (DARDA).

American School for the Deaf

Founded in 1817, the American School for the Deaf is the country's oldest and Connecticut's only educational organization exclusively devoted to serving the deaf community. A private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, ASD provides comprehensive educational services for deaf and deaf with special needs infants, children, youth, adults and their families. The school is located on a 54-acre, 14-building campus in West Hartford, Connecticut. The mission of the American School for the Deaf is to provide a comprehensive program for the development of the intellect and the enhancement of the quality of life for the deaf and hard of hearing community by serving as a multi-purpose institution furnishing educational and vocational programs for deaf children, youth, adults and their families.

The Fund for American Studies

The Fund for American Studies has been educating young leaders on the values of freedom, democracy and free-market economies since 1967. Eleven institutes around the world bring college students together for educational programs engaging them in a rigorous examination of economic concepts, political systems, and moral philosophy. American Friends of Leket Israel supports the Israel's largest food bank and food rescue network, Leket Israel.   The organization's primary mission is to alleviate the problem of nutritional insecurity through the rescue and redistribution of excess food to benefit Israel's needy. As an umbrella organization, Leket Israel also work's to assist at-risk population groups and the nonprofit organizations (NPOs) who serve them through nutrition education, cooperative purchasing, food safety, and capacity building projects designed to improve professional standards among NPOs and other food provision agencies.

Our reading of scriptures leads us to believe that Jesus accepted and loved all people—yes, even prostitutes and tax collectors! As a result, we, at Holy Family, commit ourselves to loving people just as God created them.
