The First United Methodist Church in Port Isabel is a Christian congregation serving the local community by seeking, engaging, and encouraging others through a life-changing Christian journey. We have a friendly worship atmosphere with a vibrant church family. Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. We achieve our mission through vital congregations that equip and empower people to be disciples of Jesus Christ in their homes and communities.

THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES FUNDING TO VARIOUS NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS (PARTNER AGENCIES) LOCATED IN HOOD COUNTY OR WHICH PROVIDE SERVICES TO RESIDENTS OF HOOD COUNTY. THE ORGANIZATION MOBILIZES COMMUNITY RESOURCES TO MAKE THE GREATEST POSSIBLE IMPACT IN THE COMMUNITY.

Our mission: Mobilize caring to affect change. At its core, United Way of Jackson County believes people are connected and interdependent. When we reach out a hand to one, we influence the condition of all. We all win when children form healthy attachments through a loving family, when they succeed in school, graduate and make successful transitions to adult responsibilities. We all win when families are financially stable, when people have good health, when people have a place to live, and when people are engaged and connected. We all win when people have access to transportation to pursue education, access to medical services and work. Through our role as convenor, facilitator and advocate, our goal is to create long lasting change by addressing the underlying causes of problems.

To use the power of football to improve the mental health and overall well-being of its members. This includes providing a platform at our clubhouse for social interaction, peer support, and the opportunity to improve physical fitness and develop new skills . To create a welcoming and inclusive community where individuals can come together through their shared love of football, and use the sport as a means to improve their mental health and wellbeing. The club's primary focus would be on promoting positive mental health and reducing isolation, by providing a safe and supportive environment where people can connect with others who are going through similar experiences. The club also works towards breaking down barriers and reducing stigma surrounding mental health issues by promoting awareness and understanding of mental health within the wider community. This can be achieved through education and outreach programmes, as well as working with local organisations and businesses to raise awareness and support for mental health initiatives. Ultimately, the mission of Minds United Football Club is to improve the mental health and wellbeing of the community, by fostering a sense of connection and belonging, promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles, and providing opportunities for personal growth and development.

We focus the efforts of many to help our neighbors stand strong – by addressing basic needs, and fostering success in the classroom and the workplace.
