Denver Mountain Parks Foundation

The mission of the Denver Mountain Parks Foundation is to restore the historical integrity, relevance, quality and appreciation for Denver’s Mountain Parks system; to advocate for it and ensure its future as a recreational, educational and open space resource for the City of Denver: its citizens, neighbors and visitors. The Foundation was formed in 2004, and since then has been actively engaged in encouraging and assisting projects in and about the Denver Mountain Parks. We continue to be an active and growing organization as our first 15 years of advocacy comes to fruition. As we plan for the future, we are developing a greater public presence through expanded fundraising, partnerships, educational programs, and events.

United Way Of Snohomish County

United Way of Snohomish County is a funder, partner, convener, and catalyst for positive, lasting community change. Founded in Everett in 1940, our local United Way reflects the community it serves, and we are entering the complex conversation around poverty in a more focused way. We are the only organization in Snohomish County funding multiple cross-sector Collaboratives—groups of community partners with a shared action plan—working together on long-term outcomes for children birth to age 8 and their families struggling with low income. By focusing on the well-being of both the child and the adults in their lives together, we are creating long-term solutions by dismantling systems and unlocking access to family success.

Solar Youth

Solar Youth’s mission is to empower youth from New Haven’s high-poverty neighborhoods to achieve lifelong success. We do this through our unique program model which includes LONG-TERM supportive relationships, and programs that happen IN their neighborhoods where youth EXPLORE their ENVIRONMENT, become PROBLEM-SOLVERS and practice LEADERSHIP. Founded in 2000, Solar Youth has served over 3,000 children aged 4 to 18+. In the coming years we are looking to expand to serve MORE youth, and serve them BETTER - ensuring they have the on-going strategic supports to (1) graduate from high school; (2) with a post-HS plan; (3) prepared for success.

Children Striving Together

Our mission is to support at-risk children as well as children in the community by providing them with quality services to foster their growth as individuals. We plan on doing so by offering enrichment programs based on the children’s interests which may include art, sports, music, dance, volunteer opportunities, high school and college prep workshops and many more. Our programs will continue to grow and evolve based on the needs and interests of the children as well as provide an outlet for children to explore their talents. It is our goal to help at-risk children and the children in the community realize that their struggles and obstacles don’t have to determine their life but that they can overcome adversity with help and hard work.

Power Inspires Progress

Power Inspires Progress (PIP) provides stabilization, training, and job placement for individuals with chronic barriers to employment. To this end, PIP operates two social enterprises (Venice on Vine and Venice Kitchens) which function as nontraditional "classrooms" in which individuals gain employment skills and develop an acquaintance with the culture of work. Individuals also co-create and execute stabilization plans in conjunction with staff and community volunteers to secure housing, healthcare, and other necessities, as well as tutor in remedial academics/GED. Our ultimate measure of success is our ability to help individuals secure positions of permanent employment. 86% of program participants were placed in the last fiscal year.

National Endowment for Financial Education

Today, the National Endowment operates as a 501 (c) (3) foundation devoted exclusively to helping Americans improve the quality of their lives through an exposure to basic programs and materials that promote positive and sound financial decision-making. NEFE accomplishes its mission primarily by partnering with other concerned organizations to provide financial education to members of the public in particular, to underserved individuals whose financial education needs are not being addressed by others.

Training For Christ Ministry, Inc.

"FOR I KNOW THE PLANS I HAVE FOR YOU," declares the Lord "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future" Jeremiah 29:11 Training For Christ Ministry (TFC) is committed to providing vocational, educational and spiritual mentoring for Guatemalan impoverished youth, regardless of their religion or gender. Our scholarship vocational training provides an opportunity for Guatemalan youth, that reside in remote underserved villages/hamlets, to learn a trade and thereby be a financially contributing member of their family and community. Training For Christ partners with local Christian Pastors (international churches located in students village) who provide each student with weekly spiritual mentoring and bible study. It is our hope and prayer that each student recognizes the gift God has given them and that each student develops a relationship with the Lord and become more Christ like in their earthly relationships and walk. Our students live in a Drug Cartel venue where there is no future hope or dreams other than drug trafficking, prostitution, human trafficking and gangs. In a nut shell, TFC provides an economic and spiritual alternative to illegal criminal activity that has had such a devastating impact on the poor and uneducated youth in Guatemala. Most families, if they can find work, earn less than 4 dollars a day...Travel cost to school city center costs $4.32 a day for each student - 3 buses each way. Is it no wonder that education beyond 5th grade is unobtainable for the impoverished youth in remote village areas far from city centers. Guatemala does have first rate private vocational schools located in city centers. However transportation is unaffordable and schools are usually 1 1/2 hours away. Tuition, uniforms, tools and supplies prevent any thought of obtaining a vocational education, even if transportation cost wasn't an issue. TFC makes it possible in an otherwise impossible situation. Our average program cost per child is approximately $1,800. Of this amount half the cost is for transportation. Course usually are two weekend days per week - auto mechanic is two years full time and cost $3,000 over two years. Courses offered range from sewing, cooking, baking, computer/phone repair, welding, auto mechanic, motorcycle repair, auto body shop, hair dressing, etc. Our students leave home at 5 AM and return at 7:30 PM...they are devoted and steadfast in their desire to learn. With the Lords continued blessings TFC will grow its list of graduates. It is our calling to be as flexible as one can be in meeting each students individual needs and that of their Family. Often, when a child goes to school it reduces the total family income, and in some cases prevents a child from attending school. TFC will supplement the family income when a child is attending school. TFC plans to build an all purpose building in the youths home village to provide family support, be it a nursery, parenting class, adult vocational training, etc. With God's blessings TFC will be successful with all the praise to the Lord. TFC is just one of many of the Lord's tools for the kingdom of God.

Made In Brownsville

Made in Brownsville wants to make technology and design/build creativity accessible to at-risk youth in Brownsville. We seek to employ youth to learn iterative design, fabrication, multimedia marketing and communication skills to give them the technical and leadership tools they need to change the narrative for themselves and their community. We believe that there are incredible gifts in Brownsville youth that can be triggered through actively engaging their interest through science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) content; and bridging the gap between them and opportunities to exercise those principles with real projects. Made in Brownsville engages at-risk youth to change the narrative and reality of violence and chronic disease through community organizing, planning and design.
