Our mission is to help ordinary people in crisis. Our experiences of visiting orphanages in Haiti convinced us that we could make a difference and at the very least we should try. Utilizing the wide range of skills of our volunteers in focused and efficient project delivery allows us to directly improve life for Haiti's vulnerable children. We are a non-denominational, non-governmental and non-political organisation. All the work carried out is on a voluntary basis, with the team giving freely of their time and expertise. Fundraising is channeled into project costs including materials, labour costs and equipment. All volunteers pay their own flight and accommodation costs. There are no salaries or administration costs and as a result, 100% of all donations go directly to our projects in Haiti. From August 2011 to Easter 2015 we had been working on an island off the south coast of Haiti called Ill A Vache at the l'Oeuvre St. Francois D'Assises Orphanage. The orphanage is home to 70 children, thirty of whom are severely disabled and upwards of twenty need daily physiotherapy treatment. During our time there, ESPWA planned and completed a number of different projects at the orphanage including an extension to the physiotherapy room, a medical room extension, a washroom, showers and toilets, wheelchair access paths and ramps, and general building works. We also shipped a restored tractor and trailer, plough, harrow and concrete mixer to the island and donated it to the orphanage. All of our projects employ local men and women to help with the work, with the intention of training and also creating employment and income for the local village and surrounding areas. Great friendships have been forged over the years, through broken English, Haitian Creole and French. Since Easter 2015 ,our volunteers have travelled at least twice a year to another Orphanage in Kenscoff, high up in the mountains over Port au Prince, run by Gena Heraty, a Mayo native, and improved the infrastructure within by putting in place 100s of cubic metres of wheelchair access paths and ramps. There are over 300 children and young adults living in the orphanage with more than 40 children with severe disabilities. We have a huge programme of work ongoing for this orphanage and will have for years to come. As part of this programme , as of October 2022, we have sent 40 container loads of much needed humanitarian aid , medical supplies and a wide range of vital equipment to our friends in Haiti and when emptied the containers have been converted into a house, classroom, outreach centre, clinic and storage lockup. The total cost of buying , filling and transporting a container is approximately 10,000 and any help you can give us either as an individual ,employee matching scheme or Corporate support would be most appreciated. PAIR serves low-income asylum seekers from across the world, unaccompanied minors, and immigrants who are unjustly detained, guiding them through the first step on the journey to becoming United States citizens.

The mission of the Connecticut News Project (d/b/a The Connecticut Mirror) is to increase the level of civic engagement among the state’s residents so that they can more effectively participate in the development of public policy and hold public officials accountable for understanding and addressing the state’s needs. Successfully advancing this mission will result in more informed and politically engaged residents, greater transparency in policy-making, and a stronger democracy.

The Venture Out Project leads backpacking, wilderness trips, and adventures for members of the LGBTQ+, queer, and trans communities. Their goal is to provide a safe and fun space for queer, trans, and LGBTQ+ people to experience the outdoors, as well as offer education and support that helps schools and organizations affirm their LGBTQ+ community members. The different programs such as transgender inclusion workshops for educators, adventure professionals, summer camps, and more, are open to all experience levels.

Since 1988, Project Mexico has welcomed people of all ages into Mexico to alleviate the suffering of others by building safe, secure and weather-tight homes in Tijuana. Since its inception, over 11,000 volunteers from across the United States, Canada, and 10 foreign countries, have helped to build more than 290 homes for families in need. In 1996, Project Mexico established St. Innocent Orphanage as an extension of its ministry, with the goal of providing a loving home to abandoned adolescent boys. St. Innocent Orphanage has raised over 50 boys since opening its doors and it is regularly recognized by the Mexican Government for its success and its unique model based on family, education, and healing.Project Mexico & St. Innocent Orphanage is officially recognized by the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States as an endorsed organization and it is primarily supported by donations from Orthodox Christian individuals, churches and church organizations in both the United States and Canada from all jurisdictions.

Project You believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to become self-sufficient and financially stable. We provide vocational training, job placement and resource assistance to homeless and low-income women and men, many of whom are immigrants, in New York City. Through our highly successful programs, we empower some of the city’s most vulnerable people to get out of poverty, and begin building a path toward a sustainable future for themselves and their families.

Children's Healing Art Project (CHAP) brings the healing power of art to children and families facing medical challenges. Our mobile team of teaching artists work in local hospitals, clinics and community art spaces. Research demonstrates the importance of art in the healing process: It helps patients and family members cope, encourages compliance with treatment plans, increases self-confidence, encourages self-expression, reduces stress, pain, isolation and anxiety and promotes quality of life.

Support The Enlisted Project (STEP) provides emergency financial and transition assistance grants to active duty and recently discharged enlisted military and their families. Financial assistance is provided in 12 categories encompassing a wide range of emergency needs. Military and veteran families often struggle to meet their most basic needs due to California's high cost of living index. Awarding financial assistance as a grant, not a loan, ensures that these families can move forward without the burden or worry of paying off another debt.The war in Afghanistan is winding down and our service members are returning home to fight a very different battle. Severe defense budget cuts are forcing hundreds of thousands of service members to involuntarily separate from the military with very little resources, support, or opportunities for employment. STEP will continue our efforts to support active duty military families, but now we also pay special attention to our recently discharged veterans as they struggle to successfully reintegrate back into civilian society. STEP is a reliable, relevant, and responsive Southern California resource that our Nation's heroes and their families can depend upon in their time of need.

For 7 years the Sheehan Adopt-A-Family Project (www.safproject.org), a 501(c)(3) charity, has adopted hundreds of homeless and needy families during the holidays. In addition to looking after these families once again this year we will also be expanding our reach into group homes (i.e. orphanages) by asking for technology donations (old phones, tablets, and computers. The reason I want to expand into group homes is because I’ve identified a connection between aging out of group homes and homelessness. As many of you are aware, we have a tremendous problem of homelessness in our city. Over 40,000 people are on the streets of Los Angeles, and this number is on the rise. Youths make up the fastest growing homeless age group with those 18-24 up 64% since 2016 followed by those under 18 at 41%, according to US News. Since the majority of youth in group homes are kicked out onto the streets on the day of their 18th birthday, I hope to intervene by providing these youth with the technological resources necessary for surviving on their own. SBP was founded in March 2006 by Zack Rosenburg and Liz McCartney after the couple, who originally lived in Washington, D.C., volunteered in Louisiana’s St. Bernard Parish following Hurricane Katrina. The parish, located just outside of New Orleans, was rendered 100% uninhabitable by Katrina’s floodwaters. Seeing the inefficiency and unbearably slow progress of the institutional - or “traditional” rebuilding process, but inspired by the residents' collective spirit and fierce determination to rebuild, Zack and Liz launched SBP to help them achieve their recovery goals. With the tremendous support of donors, volunteers and corporate partners, SBP has grown from a three-person volunteer team into a national organization, recognized as a leader in disaster resilience and recovery, whose mission is to shrink time between disaster and recovery. SBP seeks to achieve its mission via five interventions: -Rebuild homes quickly after disasters by mobilizing private sector innovations and assigning a single point of contact to make the home rebuilding process faster and more predictable. -Share rebuilding innovations with other rebuilding organizations to allow for efficient, predictable recovery on a national scale. -Prepare home and business owners prior to and following disaster with specific steps to mitigate risk and improve resilience. -Advise policy makers immediately after a disaster so they can deploy federal dollars sooner, and in a way that empowers an efficient recovery. -Advocate for the reform of disaster recovery strategies in the U.S. to improve the predictability and speed of recovery. SBP’s model is greatly enhanced by AmeriCorps members from all over the country who serve as client case managers, volunteer coordinators and construction site supervisors, overseeing the labor of more than 25,000 volunteers annually at SBP operations around the U.S. With its construction system enhanced and optimized through an ongoing partnership with Toyota, which helped implement lean manufacturing processes, SBP rebuilds homes far below market rate, and carries out construction projects with much lower subsidies than traditional affordable housing models. Since 2006, SBP has directly rebuilt homes for more than 1,200 families with the help of more than 150,000 volunteers in New Orleans, LA; Joplin, MO; Staten Island, NY; Rockaway, NY; Monmouth/Ocean Counties, NJ; San Marcos, TX; Columbia, SC; White Sulphur Springs, WV and Baton Rouge, LA.

IFFP is an independent community of interfaith families and others committed to sharing, learning about and celebrating our Jewish and Christian traditions. IFFP offers many programs to meet the varied needs of our interfaith community including, interfaith Sunday school, weekly gatherings and adult group discussion.
