Educational First Steps is dedicated to improving the quality and availability of early childhood education for economically disadvantaged children

Youth First’s mission is to strengthen youth and families through evidence-based programs that prevent substance abuse, promote healthy behaviors, and maximize student success.

Our mission is to increase access to FIRST® programs in Alabama so that every Alabama student has the opportunity to participate in FIRST® Robotics. We aim to inspire young people in the state of Alabama to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication and leadership.

Prevention First was incorporated in 1967 as the Central Jersey council on alcoholism. Over the years, the focus changed to the prevention of alcohol abuse and expanded to include other drugs and other forms of abuse (dating/relationship abuse, gang violence and bullying). To best reflect what the agency does and emphasize its importance, the name was ultimately changed to Prevention First. In 2013, we became an affiliate of preferred behavioral health group. Prevention First’s services are targeted to those in grades K–12 and provided during and after school by a staff of professional educators who are dedicated to the success of their students. Programs are proven, age-specific and include the tools, skills and support necessary for students to develop and maintain healthy, abuse-free relationships and lives. In addition, Prevention First educates parents, caregivers, businesses, law enforcement and community groups, provides on-site and online training for school personnel, conferences and workshops for prevention professionals and programs implemented through community outreach and the prevention coalition of Monmouth county.

People First Wisconsin is a statewide self-advocacy organization for people with disabilities. By joining together in groups, individuals with disabilities learn to speak up for themselves, share ideas, friendships and information.

Operation First Response serves wounded, injured and critically ill active duty Service Members, Disabled Veterans, First Responders and Gold Star families with personal and financial needs. Services are provided from the onset of injury, throughout their recovery period and along their journey from service life into the civilian world. Financial aid varies as each case is based on individual needs ranging from rent, utilities, vehicle payments, groceries, clothing, and travel expenses.

The mission of First Tee - Cleveland is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

First-Hand Aid was founded upon a keen awareness of the contrast between hospital care in the United States and the care currently available to the people of Cuba. Whether it is the facilities or the equipment or the available medicines, the standard of care is in all these far below acceptable.

Abilities First works to empower people with disabilities to achieve their unique potential from birth through life.Founded in 1958, Abilities First is a non-profit organization located in Middletown, Ohio that serves children and adults with a wide range of disabilities.With a continuum of programming from birth through all phases of life, Abilities First is a direct service agency for individuals with disabilities that provides a diverse range of services. These services include:-Autism Learning Center including a 4 Plus 1 Preschool Program-Speech, Occupational and Physical Therapy-Integrated Early Childhood Learning Center-Adult Day Program-Intensive Pediatric Therapy Program-Intermediate Care Facilities with Family Atmosphere-Employment HabilitationTransforming the lives of children and adults with disabilities impacts our families, our communities and our businesses in Butler, Warren, Hamilton, Montgomery, Preble, Greene and Clark counties in Ohio.We believe that every citizen working to their full potential creates a more prosperous community for everyone.

First Place’s mission is to set new standards for supportive community development, integrating adults with autism and other neuro-diversities into the fabric of society through housing, employment, healthcare, lifelong education, supportive systems and culture. Our goal is to ensure that housing and community options are as bountiful for this population as they are for everyone else.

Childhood is fleeting, there are no do-overs. That’s why we apply pressure to government officials to persuade them to do what is necessary to give every child the basic ingredients for a lifetime of success. Children First improves the lives and life chances of our region’s low-income, Black, and Hispanic children by advocating for the building blocks of opportunity — equitable access to high-quality early education, sound health care, effective public schools, as well as dependency and delinquency systems that heal children. We work with and organize parents, youth. and concerned citizens to advance these fundamental requirements of a more just society and a better futures. Formerly known as Public Citizens for Children and Youth (PCCY), Children First continues the 40+ years of advocacy on behalf of children and families in southeastern PA.
