he mission of the New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault is to develop and advance strategies, policies and responses that prevent sexual violence and limit its destabilizing effects on victims, families and communities. We accomplish this through: 1) research to document the extent of sexual violence in NYC and determine the effectiveness of current intervention and prevention efforts, 2) education about the devastating aftermath of sexual violence and opportunities for its prevention, and 3) advocacy for responsive policy development, practice and legislation with public officials and service providers.

Combining research, innovative public policy and organizing of broad alliances, LAANE engages in projects that will result in good jobs, thriving communities, racial equity, and a healthy environment. We strive for a society where people have power over their own lives and a voice in civic life, living wages, healthcare, and dignity on the job, where they live in environmentally healthy communities with safe and decent housing, good schools, clean air and clean water, and other basic necessities, and where corporations are held accountable for providing benefits to the community.    

Kindness matters – and to the more than five million people around the world who lose a loved one to suicide each year – it matters a lot. We provide healing and compassionate support during the lonely and tumultuous aftermath of suicide. We help people survive suicide loss, and go beyond “just surviving,” to lead productive lives filled with meaning and joy. It is our vision that no suicide loss survivor on the planet go without support. Since our founding, we have helped tens of thousands of suicide loss survivors from many cultures and faith traditions all over the world. The Alliance of Hope was founded as a labor of love in 2008 by Ronnie Susan Walker, a seasoned mental health counselor who lived through the traumatic loss of her stepson to suicide in 1995. During her own grief journey, Ronnie recognized there was a void in resources for people bereaved by suicide. She intuitively understood what researchers have validated in recent years: suicide loss survivors are a high-risk population for suicide themselves if they don’t receive healing support in the aftermath. She also knew firsthand that in-person support groups were few and far between, but that many suicide loss survivors needed support 24/7. When she took a class at a local high school to learn how to build a website, her goal was simply to extend friendship – and healing, compassionate support – to other survivors. At the time, she did not know there were more than 45 million others, just in the U.S., whose lives had been forever altered when their loved ones died by suicide. She launched allianceofhope.org not having any idea of what was to come. She added a community forum, where survivors could come to share their stories and connect with others who understood. Much like the movie “A Field of Dreams”, bereaved souls from across the globe made their way to this healing, online space. The first member joined, then the 40th, and then the 14,000th. In the first few years, Ronnie personally responded to each new survivor. Eventually other loss survivors began to volunteer under Ronnie’s guidance. They too reached out with compassion to others who were hurting. Today, more than 100 suicide loss survivors have volunteered as moderators and stewards of our online forum, which operates like a 24/7 group for thousands of people. They ensure it remains a healing culture for all who seek support. Many more talented, caring souls have provided pro bono support on our board of directors and advisory council. We would not be here without them. As the Alliance of Hope enters its second decade, our work is more important than ever. As suicide rates continue to rise, so do the number of loss survivors seeking support. According to a recent British Medical Journal study: individuals bereaved by suicide are 80% more likely to drop out of school or quit their jobs – and 64% more likely to attempt suicide – than individuals grieving sudden losses by natural causes. Indeed, suicide “postvention” is suicide prevention.

The Resilient Sisterhood Project’s mission is to educate and empower women of African descent regarding common but rarely discussed diseases of the reproductive system that disproportionately affect them. We approach these diseases and associated issues through a cultural and social justice lens, because we believe that poor knowledge of reproductive health is primarily related to health, racial, and socioeconomic disparities.

We empower socially and economically oppressed members of greater Los Angeles by equipping them with tools to overcome job insecurity, food insecurity, and houselessness. In doing so, we enable our community not simply to survive, but to thrive: to regain their footing with full-time jobs, steady income, and the self-confidence needed to maintain and build on these accomplishments.

To be the go-to business-led platform that mobilises resources and capabilities and leverages the same to improve Nigeria's healthcare system.

To support the preservation and enhancement of the national resources and cultural heritage of the five US National Park venues on Lake Superior. Through the funding of research, maintenance and educational projects, the NPLSF collaborates with the National Park Service.

Believe In Tomorrow National Children's Foundation is a twenty-five year-old, non-profit organization with a mission to provide unique programs that bring comfort,joy and hope to critically ill children and their families. We believe in keeping families together during a child's medical crisis, and that the gentle cadence of normal family life has a powerful influence on the healing process. Believe In Tomorrow has provided more than a quarter of a million overnight accommodations to children from every state in the United States. Our programs include Children's Hospital and Retreat Housing and Hands On Adventures that provide ongoing support to children and families from the child's diagnosis to the end of the treatment process.

Their mission is to support conservation in the Lake Erie marshes by increasing the awareness and capability of Ohio's only national wildlife refuge complex.
