Good Shepherd Children's Home

The Good Shepherd Children's Home began under the leadership of Bro. Woodrow Medlock and shortly after was under the headship of Fred and Martha Kemle who continued to serve faithfully for twenty-seven years. They became affectionately known to the children as "Uncle" Fred and "Aunt" Martha." They served as "Mom and Dad" for at least some period, to over eight hundred young people during that time. Since Uncle Fred's death in 1992, the home has been under the leadership of several loving couples including Mike and Sandy Glanzer, Jim and Patty Scalf, and Mike and Barb Juneau. Currently the Home is under the leadership John Jones as President and Randal Graby as Director with Robert and LeeAnn Brown serving as houseparents. The main home, built in 1964, is approx. 8,000 sf and can easily accomodate 28 children. We have a girls wing with 7 bedrooms, a boys wing with 7 bedrooms, a large kitchen and dining room, a family room, laundry room, office and lots for bathrooms. We are also blessed to have a small gymnasium on the property that is used for recreation and schooling and a small pond.

The Goal Is To Ensure That Every Low-Income Child In Metro Denver Who Has Been Traumatized By Sexual Abuse, Or By Witnessing Homicide Or Domestic Violence, Receives Immediate, Compassionate And Effective Intervention - Followed By Treatment - Until They Are Healed.
