LuBird’s Light Foundation was founded in honor of a little girl named Lucia, affectionately called “LuBird.” Lucia was born with a rare genetic condition called Pallister Killian Syndrome or PKS and is affected from head to toe. Our 30+-year old foundation is dedicated to contributing to the betterment and welfare of at-risk and disadvantaged children in the local community. Our mission is to promote prevention of infectious diseases (HIV, TB, and HPV) in Mali while working to develop vaccines for distribution on a not-for-profit basis in the developing world. The Great Globe Foundation, founded by theater artist Michael Littig, is a US based non-profit dedicated to creating artistic exchange with artists and students across cultures, most notably with youth from the Dadaab Refugee Camp on the border of Somalia for over a decade. Its partners include Freestyle Love Supreme Academy, the UNHCR, US State Department, The Zuckerberg Institute, and The Open Program of the Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards in communities ranging from Alabama, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Italy, and Kenya.
