Tragedy Assistance Program For Survivors

TAPS offers immediate and long-term emotional help, hope, and healing to all who are grieving the death of a loved one in military service to America, regardless of relationship to the deceased, geography, or circumstance of the death. TAPS meets its mission by providing peer-based support, crisis care, casualty casework assistance, and grief and trauma resources.

Our Mission “To provide compassionate care to empower, promote, and inspire wellness” Our Vision “Health, Equity, and Hope” Our History The Positively Living story begins in May 1996 with a dream and a few dedicated individuals determined to make that dream a reality. The dream was to organize a day center for East Tennesseans living with HIV/AIDS. The founders were determined to bring dignity, respect, and emotional support to those facing the debilitating effects of HIV/AIDS. Their original vision evolved into Positively Living, which was brought to life with a $25,000 start-up grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and was formally founded in July 1997. In 2003, Positively Living acquired its current East Fifth Avenue facility. The 16,000-square-foot building was purchased with assistance from the City of Knoxville, Knox County, Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Today, Positively Living operates as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit agency providing case management, supportive housing, food service, and mental health/addiction counseling to individuals who are homeless; mentally ill; addicted to drugs, alcohol, or other substances; and/or living with HIV/AIDS.

Masters Manna

Master's Manna, Inc.'s mission is to help homeless, near homeless, low to moderate income families and individuals obtain essential needs. Master's Manna’s primary goals include: Reducing food insecurity (a condition of uncertain availability of or inability to acquire safe, nutritious food in a socially acceptable manner) Providing intervention, mental and physical health support servicesMaking available vocational and educational opportunities Supporting supervised court ordered community serviceAffording opportunity to the local youth to complete community service hours for scouts, school and/or faith community

Youth Services of Glenview Northbrook

Despite these location changes, Youth Services continued to serve its clients, meeting their needs and supporting their families through their struggles. The agency’s mission is to meet the social and emotional well-being needs of children and teens so that they can grow up happy, healthy and hopeful. The agency’s programs have evolved, expanded and contracted through the years, depending on client needs and funding sources. The agency’s activity-based model is grounded in therapeutic dialogue and interaction between a counselor/social worker and his/her young client. This approach is our best tactic for engaging with children and their improved mental health. Current services include individual and group counseling, social skills groups, youth development and mentoring programs, health education and crisis intervention. Westchester Jewish Community Services

Founded in 1943, the mission of WJCS, a not-for-profit organization, is to provide care to people of all ages and backgrounds who are confronting significant challenges relating to mental health, trauma, disabilities, youth, and geriatric services. WJCS’ highly trained staff serve more than 20,000 Westchester County residents each year through approximately 88+ programs. Through private funding and support from UJA-Federation of New York, WJCS also meets the diverse needs of the Westchester Jewish community, providing educational and spiritual programming in Jewish day schools, nursery schools, and synagogues.
