The Moss Foundation's mission is to Motivate, Encourage, and Inspire children in Detroit in three ways: Housing, Education and Residential Treatment Facilities. Motivate (Housing): We want to MOTIVATE current and prospective residents to become homeowners so that our children have stable environments to learn and play in. Encourage (Education): We want to ENCOURAGE our children to become EDUCATED ENTREPRENEURS. We provide annual scholarships to Detroit children who are majoring in business with an interest in entrepreneurship. Inspire (Residential Treatment Facilities): We believe that every Detroit child should have access to mental health Children are truly an Inspiration and we support our children with residential treatment facilities.

Surgeons of Hope Foundation, Inc.

Surgeons of Hope's purpose is to bring local access to modern surgical care for indigent children with heart disease in Latin America. By building sustainable state-of-the-art pediatric cardiac hospitals, Surgeons of Hope provides lasting care to these children. Our motto "It's not only what we bring. It's what we leave behind" underscores our commitment to educating and sharing skills with our training programs that will enhance understanding and treatment of care.

Village Hopecore International

Transforming lives through enterprise, health, and education. We promote the alleviation of poverty in Kenya, East Africa, by providing micro loans, business education, health education, and health support with an emphasis on HIV/AIDS, malaria, and mother/child wellness programs. HopeCore was founded to foster integrated economic and social progress in the rural communities of Africa, beginning in Chogoria, Kenya.

Mindful Medicine Worldwide

Mindful Medicine Worldwide is a non-profit organization established in 2009, which seeks to bring long-term integrative health care to people of developing areas, domestically and internationally, by establishing and operating integrative health care clinics. Our professional volunteer practitioners provide medical services and healthcare education to our patients as well as create sustainable health practices by educating local lay people to be integrative health workers within their communities. Mindful Medicine Worldwide is rooted in a practice of mindfulness, education, research and training.

Our mission is to fulfill Cameron's dream and legacy by being a positive force that works to cultivate awareness and understanding of teenage depression and anxiety. We are working hard to remove the stigma of teenage mental illness, something one in four teens battles daily.

Ryan's Case For Smiles (Formerly Con Kerr Cancer)

Ryan's Case for Smiles, with 120 chapters nationwide and deliveries to 363 hospitals, improves the quality of life of children and their families as they undergo treatment for life changing illnesses and injuries. We are dedicated to the mental health and well-being of the child and their family. Supporting the child's emotional needs can be as important as providing medical care. Kids need to feel better to heal better. Ryan's Case for Smiles provides over 200,000 bright cheerful pillowcases to children in treatment that give an emotional boost and remind them that they are not defined by their illness. We are developing one of the first initiatives to address pediatric medical post-traumatic stress and help children's entire families better cope and avoid long term emotional trauma.

Gvngorg

Also known as BAL FOUNDATION GVNG.org is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to unleash the world's capacity for good by making philanthropy accessible to all. To do so, we harness the power of technology to enable individuals and organizations to develop and support charitable programs. GVNG.org is also a fiscal sponsor and we provide fiscal sponsorship services to internal GVNG.org projects to help them get set up and running quickly. GVNG.org's projects span a wide range of topic areas, from disaster relief to veterans' work, climate change, mental health, humanitarian aid, and more. We also provide education on nonprofit best practices and distribute grants to impactful organizations.

Empowering Children And Families

To help children and families construct and sustain a healthy foundation for the future. Empowering Children and Families advances our mission by providing a comprehensive “roadmap" unique to each family's strengths and challenges. The roadmap engages the entire family, requires demonstrated positive improvement, and provides much needed supports in the areas of mental health, education, social development, and family values. 100% of Empowering Children and Families funding comes from individual donors, community foundations, and corporate partners. This strategy leaves us free from government bureaucracy and political agendas. In the first year ECF will serve five families in the greater Bridgeport area. The staff of four is donating all of their time in the first year to supporting the mission of ECF.

Bloomin' Boutique

Bloomin’ Boutique gives new clothes, bedding and personal supplies to children ages 0-18 from low-income families in distress. These are children whose lives are in upheaval due to family poverty, parent job loss, homelessness, mental health challenges, domestic violence, or child abuse and neglect. The boutique is a thrifty, all-volunteer operation. Many of the items disbursed are donated to Bloomin' Boutique by generous stores, community members, civic clubs, and companies (some even hold clothing donation drives). And cash contributions allow for purchase of other items, to ensure a sufficient supply is on hand to meet needs. These items usually can be bought in bulk or when steep discounts are offered.

Shepherd's Center Of Chesterfield

Shepherd's Center of Chesterfield enriches the lives of adults 60 and over by offering opportunities for interfaith community service, lifelong learning and assistance in maintaining a healthy and independent lifestyle. We work closely with our volunteers, donors and community partners to fulfill our mission by providing: Free, accompanied transportation to medical appointments, pharmacies and for grocery shopping, including food pantriesA minor home repair service for home safety and independent living securityA low-cost lifelong learning program to help maintain overall physical and mental health and keep seniors socially connected with the community at largeA variety of opportunities to volunteer within the organization to help them stay active and to live a life that truly matters
