With forty six years of experience, South Shore Stars is one of the state’s most respected early education and youth development community-based organizations. Throughout the year over 1200 children, ages birth to 16 years, attend our Early Head Start program, family child care system, 3 preschool centers, 5 school age centers, middle school program, high school program and summer camp. We are committed to serving a diverse population, with an emphasis on supporting low-income parents and at-risk children. Four core goals form the foundation of our work. They are to: Enable parents to work Help each child reach their full developmental potential Facilitate positive youth development Improve academic achievement for students at risk of academic failure

Lifeline Energy is a non-profit social enterprise that provides sustainable information and education access to vulnerable populations. We achieve this by designing, manufacturing and distributing solar and wind-up media players and radios for classroom and group listening. Since 1999, we have distributed more than 500,000 power independent radios to provide on-demand access to information and education, mainly in sub-Saharan Africa. Over the years we have received numerous awards including the Tech Museum of Innovation Award, a World Bank Development Marketplace Award and an Index: Design to Improve Life Award. In addition, our founder and CEO Kristine Pearson was named one of TIME magazine's Heroes of the Environment for 2007 and received the James C. Morgan Global Humanitarian Award in 2005.

Drive a Senior Southwest enriches lives by providing volunteer-based transportation, friendship, and other services at no cost to non-driving seniors helping them to maintain an independent lifestyle. Healthy Aging In Place. That’s what Drive a Senior Southwest is all about. The greater Austin area has one of the fastest growing populations of adults over 65 in the U.S. and many of those older adults no longer drive. With your help, in 2017 Drive a Senior Southwest will help over 200 seniors in southwest Austin and Travis County to continue living independently by providing over 5,000 free rides and help with minor home repairs and yard work. We drive seniors to their medical and wellness appointments and, just as important, to other commitments and activities that are vital for their well-being.

EVA is a non-profit organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service and registered in the State of Illinois. It was created for the purpose of assisting Ecuadorian institutions devoted to educational, social, and health programs for the poor, neglected, and at-risk segments of the population. EVA is run by volunteers, and the various programs are implemented through network of viable, non-profit Ecuadorian institutions previously selected by a careful screening process. EVA requires that all the funds collected and distributed as yearly grants be only used for programmatic objectives of the organization it sponsors. EVA's Community Assistance Grant was instituted in 2008 to improve the quality of life of economically disadvantaged people living in the Chicago Metropolitan area where EVA is located. I Since its inception, we have been giving opportunities to advance educational, health, and human service programs in the local community.

The mission of Wisconsin Hero Outdoors is to help connect Veterans, First Responders and their families to outdoor activities.We operate in 3 primary ways: 1) Coordinate with VA Medical Hospitals across Wisconsin to help Veterans involved in VA care gain access to outdoor activities and programs. 2)Collaborate with other Veteran Service Organizations and Non-Government Organizations to focus time, money and resources to offer outdoor activities to groups and individual Veterans, First Responders and their Families. 3)Coordinate Small group and individual outings for Veterans, First Responders and their Families. Lazarus House's mission is to offer guests connected to St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia and western rural Kane County, Illinois, who are homeless or in need, hope for the future by providing hospitality, food, safe shelter, and education – tools for life. We strive to make certain that all who enter feel the love of Jesus. Goals are to: 1)help the homeless return to independent living with the skills and habits needed for long-term success and 2)offer services and referrals to help those in need in our community in order to prevent homelessness and support the well being of individuals and their families.

TYTW's mission is to protect girls' rights and end child marriage. Through the use of powerful portraits and short films of child brides, TYTW serves as the bridge, connecting girls' stories to governments, policymakers, and the public. TYTW's Adolescent Girls Photography Workshops provide survivors and girls at-risk of child marriage a chance to heal, tell their own stories, and return to their communities as leaders in the fight against child marriage. OUR VISION IS A WORLD WHERE Every girl can decide for herself, if, when, and whom to marry. Adolescent girls are free to simply be children and can determine the course of their own lives.

The China California Heart Watch brings together experts from the United States, China, and around the world. Together, we use innovative and sustainable methods to combat the growing epidemic of heart disease in Yunnan Province, China. Our overarching mission is to serve the people of Yunnan through: (1) Training local healthcare professionals in the screening, diagnosis, and treatment of heart disease; (2) Improving access to high-quality healthcare and life-saving treatments; (3) Researching the epidemiology of heart disease, the effectiveness of our interventions, and other topics of critical value to rural Chinese populations. The activities of the China California Heart Watch generate no profits. We operate solely through the generosity and vision of our donors, foundations, and granting agencies. His Little Feet is a non-profit organization that exists to help, love and train orphaned and vulnerable children worldwide. His Little Feet is dedicated to assisting orphaned and disadvantaged children around the world through its International Children\u0027s Choir and Life Training Academy. The choir promotes the plight of millions of orphaned and vulnerable children by inspiring and connecting American audiences with partnering organizations that offer practical ways to help children, including child sponsorship, local and global volunteering opportunities and/or through adoption. From November 2010 until now, the choir has been comprised of participants from Africa, Asia and the Americas.

Look Good Feel Better is dedicated to improving the self esteem and quality of life of people undergoing treatment for cancer. Since 1989, the program has served over one million people with cancer in the U.S. and more than 2 million people with cancer around the world with in-person workshops and millions more with digital resouces and now, live, virtual workshops. Free workshops, webinars and at-home programs offer lessons on skin and nail care, wigs and turbans, cosmetics, accessories, body image and personal styling - empowering cancer patients to regain confidence, connect with community , hope and compassion and to focus on becoming survivors and thrivers.

STARRY nurtures children, strengthens families, and restores hope through counseling, foster care, and adoption. By serving the neglected, abused, and alone, we help children from hard places and struggling families along in their path to healing. STARRY offers comprehensive counseling that’s guided by grace and love. We also provide compassionate guidance to families as they navigate the foster care and adoption process. STARRY provides trauma-informed care to clients by using Trust-Based Relational Intervention®. We work to meet the needs of the body, soul, and spirit of children by using the TBRI® principles of connecting, empowering, and correcting.
