Casa Center For Positive Social Change

Casa's mission is to provide social and emotional learning programs and bullying prevention to children and adolescents to develop optimal relationship skills and to prevent abusive and violent relationships. Casa's prevention programs prevent children from becoming abused, from becoming abusive, bullying people, and from becoming involved in abusive relationships. In addition, Casa leads call to action movements to increase public awareness of verbal, and emotional, other abusive behaviors and to implement abuse prevention programs and social and emotional learning programs in schools, camps and after-school systems, as well as in businesses, houses of worship, health centers, and public entities.

The Kasiisi Project (Girls Support Program)

Since 1997, the Kasiisi Project has aided education in and around Kibale National Park in rural western Uganda, East Africa. Founded initially as a link between the research-based Kibale Chimpanzee Project and the local community, the Kasiisi Project now works with several research groups in and around the park to target critical issues for the survival of the forest and support of the local population. We support early childhood education, promote conservation and health education, provide daily school lunches, train teachers, encourage literacy through libraries and computer usage, fund secondary school and college scholarships, and address the special needs of girls.

Families Raising Hope

The mission of Families Raising Hope is to assist cancer patients and their families with the financial burden that cancer treatments pose so that they can focus on their health, healing, and recovery. We are families helping families raise awareness and critical funding for those faced with the financial toxicities of a cancer diagnosis. We are a nonprofit organization and community of cancer fighters, survivors, and caregivers that understand first-hand the impacts of a cancer diagnosis. We are dedicated to helping others through similar obstacles and emotional stresses.By leveraging an incredible community of supporters and donors, we provide crisis funding for essential needs such as housing expenses, living expenses, and continued medical expenses.

Reach Out and Read Colorado

Reach Out and Read Colorado gives young children a foundation for success by incorporating books into pediatric care and encouraging families to read aloud together. Reach Out and Read Colorado trains doctors and nurses to advise parents about the importance of reading aloud and to prescribe books to children at wellness check-ups from 6 months to 5 years of age, with a special focus on children growing up in poverty. By building on the unique relationship between parents and health care providers, Reach Out and Read Colorado helps families and communities encourage early literacy skills so children enter school prepared for success.

Raphael House Of San Francisco

Established in 1971, Raphael House was the first shelter in San Francisco for families experiencing homelessness. The mission of Raphael House is to help at-risk families achieve stable housing and financial independence while strengthening family bonds and personal dignity. At Raphael House, we see homelessness as a temporary state that doesn't define a person. We understand that homelessness can result from unexpected economic, health-related circumstances, or a breakdown in family structure. We provide families an opportunity to take ownership of their futures and improve the quality of their lives through a nurturing and supportive process emphasizing the importance of strong families and personal dignity.

Tucson Cancer Conquerors Inc

Tucson Cancer Conquerors is an all-volunteer, non-profit support group dedicated to empowering cancer survivors and the communities that support them to achieve optimal wellness. We offer a unique peer support environment along with creative wellness programs designed to educate, inspire, and encourage cancer survivors to be proactive about their health both during and after cancer diagnosis and treatment. Our group is run by cancer survivors and our supporters, so we understand first hand the physical and emotional challenges associated with a cancer diagnosis. With a focus on exercise, nutrition, education, and support, we are here to help you successfully navigate the journey that lies ahead.

Bliss Kid Yoga

Bliss Kid Yoga is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit dedicated to nurturing community health and wellness by providing both free and affordable yoga and mindfulness programs for children, families and educators. Bliss Kid Yoga specializes in programs for sensitive populations including children and families who are survivors of abuse, children with exceptionalities, English language learners, economically challenged families and more. Bliss Kid Yoga combines yogic exercise, breathing, meditation, mindfulness, cooperative games and art to equip children with skills and strategies to thrive beyond their time in the program. Our mission is to empower children to care for themselves and others in a more mindful way, supporting the well-being of the community.

New Beginnings Educational Center

Every child deserves a safe and fun place to learn and play year-round. The reality is, for many families in underprivileged and underserved communities, this place is simply out of reach. New Beginnings Educational Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been helping at-risk youth from grades Kindergarten through 12th since 2002 in Montgomery, Alabama. Through tutoring, mentoring, nutrition and wellness programs, summer camps, athletics, violence prevention training, leadership development strategies, character education, school promotion and graduation, New Beginnings is improving the community by reducing school drop-outs, juvenile delinquency, truancy, and health inequalities.

Believe Big is a non-profit Christian organization founded by Ivelisse and Jimmy Page after her battle with Stage IV colon cancer. Established in 2011, Believe Big is bridging the gap between conventional and complementary medicine for fighting cancer. Connect patients with physicians trained in mistletoe therapy, and the resources necessary to help them advocate for their own health. Our mission is to aid and support children suffering from poverty, sickness, lack of education or who have experienced physical or moral violence, by offering them the opportunity and the hope of a new life. It is an independent, lay organisation and is also designated an ONLUS (Non-profit organisation of social value). It operates without discrimination of culture, ethnicity and religion and upholds the United Nations rights of the child. The Foundation works around the world and is closest to the weakest and most neglected children offering them food, medicine, health care, education and programmes for social reintegration. Diaper Bank Of Connecticut

DBCT’s Mission is threefold: to ensure all families living in poverty have an adequate supply of diapers for their infants and toddlers; to raise community awareness that “basic human needs” include diapers but that these needs aren't being met for those living in poverty; and to advocate for policy reform so diapers are included in the definition of and provision for the “basic health needs” of families. More than 110 social service agencies make up our nationally recognized Diaper Distribution Network, efficiently and effectively distributing diapers to families most in need in their service communities as determined by a rigorous set of qualifications in consultation with our board of directors, professional advisors and partner agencies and codified through our Agency Advisory Council.

Ronald McDonald House Charities Of Greater Charlotte

Our mission is to provide the families of children being treated in area medical facilities with a safe, affordable and caring "home-away-from-home." Our residential House program offers traveling families a safe place to call home for the duration of their child’s treatment, providing them with a bedroom, bathroom, daily meals and more. Our second program is the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Caroline’s Corner located within Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital which provides onsite refreshments, lounge space, laundry and shower facilities to all patients and families. The goal of both programs is to provide needed support services to families so that they can focus on what matters most: the treatment and recovery of their child.
