Metro Meals on Wheels Collaborative (Minneapolis)

Meals on Wheels is a community-based service that provides fresh, nutritious meals delivered directly to the homes of seniors and individuals with disabilities throughout the Twin Cities. In addition to regularly providing healthy foods, caring volunteers provide social connection that helps meal recipients remain living independently in their own homes.

Global Vision International Charitable Trust

Working with local grassroots charities and NGOs in 13 countries across the globe, the Global Vision International (GVI) Charitable Trust manages and raises funds for numerous long-term programs. These funds are used to support our local partners with the aims of alleviating poverty, illiteracy, environmental degradation and climate change. We do this through education, nutrition, conservation and capacity building. Our work focuses upon 3 key objectives: awareness, impact and empowerment. The aim is to create awareness of global issues, have a direct impact on those issues locally and empower our alumni, be they volunteers, donors, staff or community members, to continue impacting local issues on a global level.

Big Sky Ranch/Catnip

Big Sky Ranch/CATNIP (Care, Advocacy, and Treatment for Neglected and Indigent Pets) Foundation is an animal welfare organization with the goal of changing the ways we think and feel about living with and caring for animals. Our vision is to create a no-kill, no-shelter community, by increasing community consciousness for the well-being of people, animals, and the planet. Based in Folsom, Louisiana, we provide valuable programs as alternatives to euthanasia to lower the number of animals entering shelters and the ones being killed there. Additionally, we provide valuable resources to other shelters and rescues, which would otherwise not be available to help them, further reducing the numbers entering and being killed in shelters.

To support and grow the state’s vibrant network of community and school gardens. This mission is achieved by growing gardens, gardeners, and garden leaders. MEND works to end hunger in Essex County by supporting our interfaith network of 17 food pantries. MEND provides funds, fresh and healthy food, social service referrals, volunteers, and a forum for all member pantries. MEND advocates for policies to eliminate food insecurity and to improve the quality of life for those in need in Essex County.

Nusci Nutrition Science Foundation

Founded in 2012 by people who have had their lives changed by the dietary guidance of the doctors and their books cited here, NuSci Nutrition Science Foundation is a nonprofit --IRS 501(c)(3)-- organization that has a four-fold mission: -Identify the most solid scientific evidence about the relationship between nutrition and health. -Communicate these findings to individuals, health organizations, schools, food manufacturers, and food stores. -Assist healthy eating through publishing a NuSci diet compliant list of food products and allowing food manufacturers and restaurants to print the NuSci trust mark on their compliant products. -Assist healthy eating by maintaining a wiki of NuSci diet compliant recipes and meal plans.

Hope Network reaches out, meets needs, and changes lives by leveraging a plethora of local resources. The mission of Hope Network is to offer hope to the hungry and hurting by delivering exemplary care, affirming value, and meeting basic needs. These critical services enable the impoverished Raytown population to build a foundation to meet the basic daily requirements to succeed. At each point of service a client is met with a volunteer case manager who personally works with the client. The individualized attention allows for a relationship of trust to be built, creating fertile ground for growth. Our goal is to usher families out of a life of poverty by meeting their immediate food need, equipping them with tools for success, while filling them with hope for the future.

The Elephant Project

Our mission is to develop new ideas and implement new solutions to address the short and long-term threats to elephant survival, providing them a new future free of cruelty and death at the hands of humans. Our unique approach of developing communities that will end poaching and illegal trafficking, implementing humane economies within host countries and by creating non-invasive research facilities, we will bring transformational change to this epic struggle while bettering the lives of the indigenous population and the host government. The Elephant Project will create self-sustaining and self-funding sanctuaries and communities reducing the need to constantly fundraise for the project. This project is designed to be a model that can be used all over the world to protect endangered species, better the economies of the host country, provide skills training, jobs, healthcare and educational opportunities for the indigenous population.

Church Of The Holy Apostles

The mission of Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen, a non-sectarian program of the Church of the Holy Apostles, is to feed the hungry, comfort the afflicted, seek justice for people experiencing homelessness, and provide hope and opportunity to those in need. In addition to multiple meal outreach programs, we offer a social services center, writers workshop, health services, exercise classes, discussion groups, computer classes, and more.
