Waste Not Want Not exists to prevent the discarding of items that can be used to fight hunger and poverty in our community. We do this by rescuing food daily from numerous sources for distribution to load charitable organizations, and through other cost-effective, volunteer-driven initiatives.Every year, one-quarter of the food produced in America is thrown away before it reaches a consumer. While we, as a nation, annually discard 27 million tons of wholesome food, more than 38 million Americans suffer from food insecurity. Waste Not Waste Not is the smart response to this disconnect between abundance and need.

Founded by Apple Distinguished Educator and Microsoft Innovative Educator Trainer Daphne Bradford, Mother of Many (M.O.M. http://www.motherofmany.com) is a grassroots nonprofit using technology and healthy eating programs to keep high school students engaged in school and gain workplace skills. Serving Los Angeles’ lowest performing inner city schools such as Locke, Crenshaw and Dorsey high schools in South Los Angeles—M.O.M. aims to “bridge the digital and STEM career divide” in order to close the achievement gap in neighborhoods where African American and Latino students have little access to technology and fresh foods.

Rock and Wrap it Up! (RWU) is an award-winning anti-poverty think tank. We research, discover and nurture potential sources willing to share renewable assets. Our donors include touring bands, educational institutions, the hospitality industry, professional sports teams, hospitals and TV/film shoots. We find and vet partner agencies that need and can share these resources with the poor. We encourage the use of the Whole Earth Calculator mobile application to access total pounds of food conversion to meals and greenhouse gas emission reduction. We also have programs to aid veterans as well as a program to increase access to feminine hygiene products for indigent women and teens.

Meals on Wheels is a community-based service that provides fresh, nutritious meals delivered directly to the homes of seniors and individuals with disabilities throughout the Twin Cities. In addition to regularly providing healthy foods, caring volunteers provide social connection that helps meal recipients remain living independently in their own homes.

The mission of the Flagstaff Family Food Center: Food Bank & Kitchen (FFFC) is Neighbors Feeding Neighbors, Every Day. SisterSong’s mission is to amplify and strengthen the collective voices of indigenous women and women of color to achieve Reproductive Justice (RJ) by eradicating reproductive oppression and securing human rights. RJ is the human right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, choose when and how to have children or not, and parent in safety with adequate resources. RJ centers the needs and leadership of the most marginalized and the intersections of oppressions. The first RJ organization founded to build the movement, SisterSong includes and represents Indigenous, African American, Asian and Pacific Islander, Arab and Middle Eastern, Latinx, and queer women and trans people. A top RJ thought leader, trainer, organizer, and collaboration facilitator, our focus is Southern and national.

Mustard Seed Communities (MSC) is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to caring for the most vulnerable populations in society. Founded in 1978, MSC provides care to children and adults with physical and mental disabilities, children affected by HIV/AIDS, teenage mothers, impoverished families, and marginalized communities throughout Jamaica, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, and Zimbabwe.

The Cheshire Food Pantry is a community organization that provides food in situations for all eligible individuals and families in need, regardless of their race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, or disability. Free-will donations come from the general Cheshire community.We accomplish equitable distribution through the generous giving of time and labor by an organized team of compassionate volunteers.

Their mission is to provide groceries, household essentials and companionship to all members of the Broward County Jewish community who are in need. While they are especially committed to assisting Holocaust survivors, homebound seniors, individuals with special needs and/or disabilities and victims of domestic violence, they are here to ensure that no Jew in Broward County goes hungry. You need not be religiously observant to receive our help.

The mission of Harvest Hope Food Bank is to provide for the needs of hungry people by gathering and sharing quality food with dignity, compassion, and education. We accomplish this goal by collecting, storing and distributing food and related items to more than 400 qualified, non-profit agencies engaged in feeding the needy, elderly, disabled, and seriously ill families and children throughout counties in central South Carolina.
