The mission of Cayenne Wellness Center and Children's Foundation is to improve the nutritional health and mental health of the public. We achieve this mission through education, research, public awareness initiatives, and community outreach programs that promote good nutrition and mental health. We practice the science of helping people make changes in their lifestyle to improve their overall health and quality of life emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Founded in 2000, Cayenne Wellness Center and Children's Foundation grew out of the need to offer effective and exemplary service to those suffering with sickle cell disease, unhealthy eating habits and poor mental health.

To establish model medical facilities in order to alleviate the sufferings of poor and resource less patients and provide them quality medical care. To help the humanity in distress at times of natural calamities like Earth Quakes, Accidents, IDPs crisis and so forth. To conduct training programmes for Community Health Workers in collaboration with other community based organizations and donor agencies. To create awareness among the general public for improvement of their health through health education. To help deserving and talented students and provide financial support to widows and poor families who cannot afford treatment on their own. To achieve simple treatment goals through cost effective local medicines including Herbs and Folk Home Remedies designed to cure as many patients as possible with few side effects. To provide best possible treatment to the poor and needy patients through qualified and specialist doctors. To develop a Health Education Programme designed to improve the quality of life through preventative measures. To conduct training programmes for Community Health Workers in collaboration with other community based organizations and donor agencies. To establish a Centre of Excellence for the treatment of Tuberculosis (in line with WHOs, DOT programme), Hepatitis-C and other Infectious Diseases. To provide immediate relief in case of natural disasters and calamities and also to take active part in rehabilitation of the affected population.

Book Baskets, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was established in 1995 with the goal of encouraging reading through book ownership. For over 20 years we have been deeply committed to giving new or lightly used books to those children in our area who might not otherwise have books of their own. We currently serve over 30 local social service agencies or education programs. On average, we place over 20,000 books per year into the appreciative hands of children from the Charlottesville and Albemarle County area. A small bookplate is placed in the front of each book, allowing the recipient to identify the gift book as his or her own.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish was established by Bishop Frank J. Harrison in July of 1985 to service the newly developed areas of Liverpool and Baldwinsville. 300 families signed on as founding pioneers with Father John Finnegan as Pastor. He had a house in Kimbrook that he worked out of and our first religious education classes were held in the rooms of the house including the basement. Masses were held in various places while our new church building was under construction. Palmer Elementary, Maurer Funeral Home, Radisson’s Aspen House and Moyers Corners Fire Department were all gracious enough to let us use their space for weekend Masses.

Urban Food Alliance strives to alleviate food insecurity in local communities. We help feed the hungry in several ways:1) We provide warm meals at shelters and in places where homeless people gather. 2) We reach out to local Social Services departments to identify where meals are needed and work with them to organize collection drives to supply community food banks and soup kitchens.3) We create alliances with schools, community service groups, restaurants and other organizations to bring volunteers and resources together.4) In the long term, we hope to offer food education programs that will help people shop for and prepare healthy foods on a budget.

Rock and Wrap it Up! (RWU) is an award-winning anti-poverty think tank. We research, discover and nurture potential sources willing to share renewable assets. Our donors include touring bands, educational institutions, the hospitality industry, professional sports teams, hospitals and TV/film shoots. We find and vet partner agencies that need and can share these resources with the poor. We encourage the use of the Whole Earth Calculator mobile application to access total pounds of food conversion to meals and greenhouse gas emission reduction. We also have programs to aid veterans as well as a program to increase access to feminine hygiene products for indigent women and teens.

Feed America is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending hunger and food insecurity in the United States. We believe that everyone deserves access to nutritious food, and we work tirelessly to ensure that those in need have the resources they need to lead healthy, fulfilling lives. To achieve this, we provide food assistance through a network of community partnerships and volunteer programs. We also work to address the root causes of poverty and food insecurity through education, advocacy, and community-based initiatives. We also collaborate with other organizations, government and private partners to increase the impact of our mission. Our goal is to empower individuals, families, and communities to break the cycle of poverty and achieve self-sufficiency. We strive to create a future

OUR MISSION: Uniting People with Opportunities. The United Planning Organization, the designated community action agency for Washington, DC, was established December 10, 1962 to plan, coordinate, and implement human services programs for low-income residents in the Nation's Capital. For over 50 years, UPO has been in the forefront of the war on poverty. As the catalyst for economic security and growth for all Washington, DC residents, UPO has laid the groundwork for innovative social service programs such as weatherization and energy conservation services, Head Start, workforce development training and youth development. Today, UPO continues to provide residents with comprehensive resources for early childhood education; youth development; employment and training; family and community services; case management and referrals to other supportive services.

"To provide nutritious food to people in need with compassion, dignity and respect." Nourish Food Banks is the oldest and largest food bank network in Pierce County, with locations in Edgewood, Graham/South Hill, Lakewood, Northeast Tacoma, Northwest Tacoma, Southeast Tacoma and West Tacoma. Nourish’s innovative Mobile Food Bank, a semi-truck and trailer turned food bank on wheels, visits a different location daily, including schools in the Bethel, Clover Park and Tacoma School Districts, and higher education learning centers like Tacoma Community College and UW Tacoma. Mission: San Diego Hunger Coalition leads coordinated action to end hunger in San Diego County. We do this through research, education and advocacy. Vision: Our vision is that everyone in San Diego County has enough food for an active, healthy life. Goals The San Diego Hunger Coalition leads coordinated action to: 1. Build a more effective and interconnected system of food assistance resources. 2. Enable low-income individuals and families to purchase more healthy food by increasing participation in CalFresh, a monthly supplement to a household’s food budget. 3. Ensure all children have year-round access to healthy food by expanding school meals and other federal child nutrition programs. 4. Advocate for legislative and administrative policies that reduce hunger and increase access to healthy food.

Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare (AMPATH) was created in 2001 in response to the HIV crisis in western Kenya. It is built on a partnership between Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital and the Moi University School of Medicine in Eldoret, Kenya, and a consortium of North American academic health centers, led by Indiana University. The partners joined forces to create one of Africa's largest, most comprehensive and effective HIV/AIDS management and control systems. AMPATH is a formal partner with the United States government through a $75 million grant from USAID and has continually expanded its successful HIV approach to into a more comprehensive primary health care system. With a tri-partite mission of care, education, and research, AMPATH provides healthcare services to a population of 3.5 million people in western Kenya and focuses on improving the health and wellbeing of the entire population-leaving no one behind.

We strive to contribute to a world where urban and rural communities take responsible care of their environment, work consciously to conserve and protect natural resources in sustainable ways, and preserve historical assets and heritage for the benefit of future generations. Our mission is three-pronged. Conservation: Create significant and sustainable environmental change, specifically focusing on climate change, water conservation, food security, waste recycling, sustainable energy, preservation of endangered fauna and flora and greening projects that incorporate poverty alleviation and sustainable livelihoods. Education: Increase capacity and expertise of the southern African environment community, by transferring skills, providing mentorship and building supportive networks for the development and sustainability of the environment sector. Innovation: Use modern technology (e.g. GIS) capacity to enhance conservation efforts and to pioneer socio-ecological approaches to protected area management.
