Our mission is to provide educational services to people who are in need in Shelby County. Re-entry reporting is a separate component that we offer to inmates at the Shelby County Government: Divisions of Corrections before exiting the compound. Our goal is to empower and serve the greater good in Shelby County but are not limited to the needs of our city. We are investing in the citizens of Shelby County, City of Memphis and our next generation of youth and adult leaders. Our focus is helping families, the homeless, inmates incarcerated, and newly exiting offender population in need. We provide support, transitional services, staffing, operations, and management for Cooling/Warming Centers, Emergency aid and short term shelter options. Efforts are successful with community partners, sponsors, grants, fundraising, donations, food drives, coat drives, clothing, gently used furniture and so forth. We promote self-sufficiency, health & wellness, educational and advocacy programs. LHTF operates under four key values: Respect, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence.

Bethany House of Northern Virginia is located in Fairfax County, Virginia, providing emergency shelter and support services to women and children escaping domestic violence. We help women and their children who have suffered from domestic violence regain health and dignity. We provide women with safe, restorative care while giving them the support and resources they need to transition into independent lives free from abuse. We are non-jurisdictional. We accept women and children from across Northern Virginia, from the entire Washington, DC metropolitan area, from other states and beyond. Once our families are stabilized, we help them get reestablished in their community by providing temporary housing and support. Realizing the vision of our founder Doris Ward, since 1979, BHNV has been a safe haven for women and children suffering the nightmare of domestic violence while also serving as a resource to our community at large. BHNV is funded by grants and donations from businesses, charitable foundations, churches, organizations, and individual community members.

After a survey found over 50,000 widows of career enlisted Air Force personnel lived in poverty, the Air Force Enlisted Men's, Widows and Dependents Home Foundation was incorporated in 1971. Teresa Village, an apartment complex located in Fort Walton Beach, FL was purchased in 1975, providing the first housing for enlisted widows. Construction of Bob Hope Village was completed in 1988. Between the two villages, we have the capability to house and provide services for 450 resident in independent living apartments. A reflection of our growing and evolving mission was our official name change in 2002 to the Air Force Enlisted Village. On September 15, 2005 our new Assisted Living Residence, Hawthorn House was opened adjacent to Bob Hope Village. We can now provide a greater level of care as our residents age in place. The long range goal is to eventually build a skilled nursing residence in order to provide continuous life care. Our campus also has a beautiful all-faiths chapel, a welcome center and an administrative building. Providing for resident's physical, social , psychological, health and security needs is the AFEV's only purpose.

(WORD) is one of Missoula’s longest established and most experienced non-profit organizations. Since our founding in 1986, WORD has spearheaded, supported and participated with organizations, agencies and individuals who are committed to building community in Missoula. Vision: At WORD we envision a socially just world where each person is valued and all are empowered to fulfill their potential. We aim to build, through collective action, the socioeconomic, cultural and political conditions that ensure equality, independence and full participation for all. We believe that these conditions are indispensable to the health and sustainability of families, communities and society as a whole. Everything that we do at Back Bay Mission stems from our mission: strengthening neighborhoods, seeking justice, transforming lives.We strengthen neighborhoods through nine initiatives: the Micah Center (Day Center for the Homeless), Home at Last, (Permanent Supportive Housing), Rental Assistance, Emergency Assistance (Includes Food Choice Food Pantry) Community Health Worker Project, Bridges Out of Poverty education, Housing Recovery and Home Port (Housing for Veterans) Our programs are seeking justice by providing a way forward for those caught in generational poverty, those experiencing the devastation of life traumas and those who are victims of poor life choices. These programs assist the people we serve become contributing citizens in their communities, An annual average of 800 volunteers take what they learn at Back Bay Mission home with them where they have the opportunity to strengthen their own neighborhoods efforts in justice seeking. Justice seeking means supporting the people we serve in becoming more involved in their communities, educating people about the realities of poverty, and advocating on behalf of marginalized people..All of our programs transform lives. Whether we're helping a homeowner keep their home, mentoring a single mother as she plans her path out of poverty, or working with an intern who is thinking about a career in social work, we're making the lives of the people we serve better. Our work in transforming leads BBM to be catalyst in transforming individual lives that can transform our communities and the country.

Goals: Assist and empower under-privileged Americans through sustainable social service programs. Strengthen the family system through education and value based family services. The mission of Wimberley Adoption Group & Rescue (WAG Rescue) is to come to the aid of abandoned, neglected, unclaimed and surrendered dogs and puppies, regardless of their age or condition, in the Wimberley area and western Hays County. WAG Rescue provides medical care for these animals and places them in a nurturing foster environment where they receive training and learn socialization skills until they are ready to be adopted into loving, permanent homes. WAG Rescue promotes the compassionate treatment of all animals and seeks to educate the public about responsible pet ownership and advocates spay/neutering of pets in order to prevent overpopulation and much animal suffering. WAG Rescue is a volunteer supported organization committed to the following community services: To rescue and assist in the permanent placement of stray, abandoned, unclaimed, and surrendered dogs in and around Wimberley, Texas. To promote and ensure the compassionate and humane treatment of dogs in our care by providing medical treatment, vaccinations, spay/neuter services, and professional behavioral evaluation, training and rehabilitation if required. To place these dogs in a safe-haven, and provide a pre-screened foster home where they are nurtured, receive training and learn socialization skills so that they have the best chance of becoming a good companion animal. To find the most suitable, vetted permanent home for each dog based on its temperament and personality and compatibility with the adoptive family. To promote, through education, responsible pet ownership, pet health and safety, and the humane treatment of all animals. To promote spay/neuter of all pets in order to prevent overpopulation and animal suffering, and provide Emancipet low or no cost vouchers for dog spay or neuter to Wimberley residents. To act as a lost and found resource for all animals via our website and social media.

The Baron Jay Family Foundation is a 501(c)(3) federally tax exempt nonprofit organization that was legally incorporated in 2004. We are committed to promoting health awareness, relationship guidance, employment preparedness arts education, and financial literacy in economically distressed and underserved communities. We host workshops and programs for at-risk youth that prepare them to become responsible, civic-minded, respectful, and productive citizens. We also sponsor free training programs in computer skills training and English literacy to local communities in underdeveloped regions of the world such as West Central Africa. One of our main goals is to increase digital literacy through computer skill development in poverty stricken communities. All of our workshops are designed to give our beneficiaries practical life-skills that promote self-esteem, empathy, stress reduction, anger management, academic improvement, and civic leadership. In the spirit of volunteerism and community partnership, Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago improves the homes and neighborhoods of elderly, disabled and low-income residents so that they may continue to live in warmth, safety and comfort. Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago was founded to improve the declining housing stock of homeowners in Chicago and Cook County. We serve existing homeowners, who, due to financial or physical limitations, have been unable to maintain their homes. Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago was formed in 1991 as an affiliate of the national organization, Rebuilding Together. Since then, Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago has partnered with over 600 sponsors to keep homeowners living in warmth, safety and independence. To date we have repaired over 1,600 homes and 200 nonprofit facilities in partnership with communities, corporations, trade unions, and civic groups. Our work is performed by an all-volunteer labor force, enabling us to provide repair services at no cost to our clients. In addition to physical improvements, we provide personal contact, increased understanding, and an opportunity to overcome socio-economic stereotypes. We have found that our efforts often act as a catalyst for additional neighborhood improvements. How We Are Unique Meet Basic Needs & Serve the Underserved: Our programs allow clients to use their limited budget for basic essentials like food and medication, rather than costly home repairs. We do not require sweat equity and never charge for our services. Holistic Approach: We address the needs of each home and its occupants, with a focus on health and safety. Exceptional Business Model: Every $1 we receive turns into $3.25 worth of services to residents in low-income neighborhoods-- resulting in $2 million in community reinvestment every year. We offer opportunities for volunteers to make a real difference in the community & meet people from all walks of life.

A Work In Progress Sober Living Home for Women provides affordable housing and support recovering from alcoholism and drug addiction. We also provide housing for women with mental health issues that prevent them from living independently.

The Elizabeth Stone House partners with adult and child survivors of domestic violence and related trauma – mental illness, housing instability and substance misuse – to achieve safety, stability, and overall wellbeing, thereby contributing to the strength, resiliency, and health of the community we serve
