The Giving Tree is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in Portland, Oregon providing enhanced resident service coordination to residents living in subsidized or affordable housing. We engage vulnerable populations in art, life skills development and recreation to reduce isolation, increase personal resilience and build healthier communities. We deliver programs in the apartment communities in which residents live, removing obstacles of transportation, encouraging neighbor to neighbor support and helping residents to learn, grow and thrive in a supportive environment. From community meals to creative workshops, from safety and wellness classes to individual budgeting assistance, The Giving Tree is dedicated to helping low and fixed income seniors, veterans, people with mental illnesses, physical limitations and developmental disabilities realize their fullest individual potential.

Temporary housing for women in distress IT IS THE MISSION of Genesis House, Inc. to provide transitional shelter for homeless women and their children, long-term housing for student mothers with children, and shelter for homeless pregnant women. Genesis House, Inc. is committed to providing a safe, supportive, caring environment. Education, self-discipline, self-reliance, and independence from the welfare system are earnestly promoted. Counseling, personal improvement classes, and appropriate health care are obtained for all residents. Classes in childbirth and parenting are provided as needed.

The mission of Project WeHOPE is to help the unhoused, homeless and those at-risk in rebuilding their lives through a customized Supportive Housing Program customized to the needs of each client. City With Dwellings: A Community First Initiative

City with Dwellings: A Community First Initiative (CwD), works to end the crisis of homelessness in Winston-Salem and Forsyth County by building therapeutic, sustained community for individuals who are experiencing homelessness and persons who struggle with chronic homelessness. As a low-barrier agency, CwD understands the unique needs and circumstances homeless persons must overcome to successfully access housing, health and employment resources. By building relationships of trust and engaging the wider community, we are able to effectively facilitate a coordinated community response to help house individuals and reduce recidivism.

HomeAid Atlanta

HomeAid Atlanta's mission is to build new lives for homeless families and individuals through housing and community outreach. HomeAid Atlanta builds and renovates facilities for organizations serving Atlanta's homeless population. Past projects include transitional housing facilities, a free-of-charge health clinic for the homeless, one teen center, and many more, with additional projects currently in development. The result—more than 750 homeless people are provided housing each year in metro Atlanta through HomeAid Atlanta-built housing facilities.

Christ House

On December 24, 1985, Christ House opened its doors to provide comprehensive health care for sick, homeless persons, while assisting them in addressing critical issues to help break the cycle of homelessness. Hospitals treat homeless patients for emergencies, but a lack of continuity of care that forces them to discharge these patients to the street where they cannot rest and recuperate. Christ House is a place where these homeless patients with acute medical needs can receive plenty of rest, nutritious meals, medical care and social services.

New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans

The Mission of the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans is to extend a helping hand to homeless veterans who have served the United States honorably in peace and war who are addressing the challenges of addiction, trauma, severe and persistant mental illness, and/or unemployment. And, who will commit themselves to sobriety, non-violence, and working for personal change; to offer homeless veterans temporary, save overnight accomodation and basic nutrition; to offer in a fiscally sound manner effective longer term programs which best meet the veteran's transition needs, utilizing the full range of government, foundation grants and private contributions; to refer veterans to other public and private institutions through a network of service providers who can meet their needs, not duplicating what others can do better; to create and operate housing for veterans as an important solution to homelessness; and to one day become recognized as the most effective private veteran's transition program in the country.
