2nd Recess is a health centered 501(c)3 youth running nonprofit serving San Diego County. Since our inception in the summer of 2011, our focus has been on inspiring San Diego youth and their families to be active through running and track & field. Introducing kids to fun and fitness through running builds healthy habits and reduces instances of obesity in adulthood.

United States Adaptive Recreation Center (Usarc)

Founded in 1983, the mission of the United States Adaptive Recreation Center (USARC) is to open doors to people with disabilities by providing access to challenging and adventurous recreation that increases their sense of health and well being. USARC is committed to building self-confidence by enabling personal achievement, developing awareness of potential and increasing the ability to overcome limitations. USARC gives people hope, dignity and respect, ultimately improving their quality of life

KEROSENE LAMP FOUNDATION

The mission of the Kerosene Lamp Foundation (KLF) is to empower youth to grow into healthy and well-educated leaders. KLF was founded in 2003 by a native of St. Vincent & the Grenadines and retired NBA player, Adonal Foyle. KLF uses basketball as a bridge to the next generation, promoting education and health awareness, providing free Athletics & Academics camps, mentoring at-risk student-athletes and building/refurbishing basketball courts.

Miracle League North Bay

Since one of the main barriers arise from the natural grass fields used in conventional leagues, The Miracle League teams play on a custom-designed, rubberized turf field that accommodates wheelchairs and other assertive devices while helping to prevent injuries. The Miracle League makes dreams come true for children and adults with special needs. It’s more than playing a game. The Miracle League is about making new friends, building self-esteem and being treated like an athlete. To help the athletes, The Miracle League uses a “buddy” system, resulting in a beautiful bond between disabled player and an able-bodied peer. The Miracle League serves children and adults who suffer from any physical or mental disabilities, causing them to be excluded, whether intentionally or not, from conventional baseball leagues.

Leo Yassenoff Jewish Center

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus is a human service agency offering a varied program that is Jewish in nature. It is committed to enhancing the quality of individual and family through the promotion of physical, intellectual and spiritual wellness. It provides educational and cultural programs that reflect the Jewish heritage, health related activities and many services to the community at large. Through its wide array of programs, the JCC pursues its mission of strengthening the individual, family and community.

Our vision is to provide a community that empowers individuals to grow socially, physically and emotionally. We believe that everyone deserves to be accepted, loved and respected. Camp Tatiyee upholds the dignity of all individuals, at all times by embracing their abilities by asking “how" rather than “if".

Special Camps For Special Kids

Camp John Marc inspires confidence for life through high-quality camping programs for children, teens, and families. Year round programming and specialized camp facilities are uniquely designed in partnership with Dallas-Fort Worth area pediatric hospitals, community volunteers, and health organizations who are dedicated to serving campers living with chronic medical and physical challenges. The dignity of each camper is nurtured at Camp John Marc as well as in the community through its outreach programs.

Philadelphia Youth Basketball

Philadelphia Youth Basketball (PYB) is a dynamic sports-based youth development organization with a mission to create opportunities for young people to reach their potential as students, athletes, and positive leaders. PYB is an inclusive, mission-driven nonprofit organization made up of individuals from across our city and region who share a belief in the power and potency of basketball when purposefully blended with positive coaching and mentorship, academic enrichment, health and wellness, and leadership development opportunities.
