Since 1979, the mission of the Sacramento Blues Society (SBS) is to preserve and promote the indigenous American Music known as the Blues. SBS offers the community a varied program of the blues and conducts community outreach and educational programs centered on the Blues. SBS keeps the Blues tradition alive in Sacramento by supporting and promoting the local blues music scene, bringing nationally and internationally renown performers to the region and providing musical education exposure to the area's youth through our Blues in the School (BITS).

The mission of the educational arts-based 501C3, the SuperYou FUNdation (with a capital “FUN”) is for youth to notice and celebrate the superhero qualities in themselves and others so that they feel inspired to positively impact their communities. Through writing, presenting, critical thinking, collaborating, music, performance, and art, students connect to their unique “superpowers.” Then, holding each other accountable as superheroes, and acting from the “do good” place of superhero empowerment, students collaborate on social good missions to help their communities.

Mission and Vision:  Chess in the Schools is a not-for-profit educational organization dedicated to improving academic performance and building self-esteem among inner-city public school children. Chess is a powerful teaching tool that can break through barriers to help the most disadvantaged students learn skills that translate into academic and lifelong success. Over the past two decades, we have seen how an effective chess education curriculum can change lives. But, learning chess is just the first stebut no one will dispute that the numbers are unsatisfactory. This appallingly low statistic is even lower for minority students and those who live in poverty. Many education experts agree that increasing the high school graduation rate starts with early intervention. Chess in the Schools believes that elementary school students need to develop basic analytical skills that lead to academic success throughout their school career. To develop these skills, Chess in the Schools teaches the complex game of chess to thousands of New York City public school children every year.

The Virginia Avenue Project empowers kids to think creatively, courageously and critically about life goals and choices by providing free, Writing and Performing Arts programming, in conjunction with long-term mentoring, throughout their growing years.

Founded in 2011, BFTW's mission is to make quality used bicycles and parts affordable and available to lower income people and select institutions in developing countries to enhance their lives and livelihoods through better transport; and to generate skilled employment in bicycle repair and maintenance overseas, and to provide satisfying environmental and humanitarian community service opportunities for volunteers in the United States. Founded in 2006, the Noyo Food Forest Mission is to cultivate and model a healthy local food system, by providing opportunities for Mendocino Coast youth and community to learn about, grow, and access garden-fresh food.

To provide new, properly fitting gym shoes and socks to local children in need.

The Youth Connection is committed to providing high quality programs, advocacy and supportive services. We connect youth, young adults and their families in Metro Detroit to resources and opportunities that enrich their lives with special attention to those who are under-served.

Spread the Word Nevada is dedicated to advancing early childhood literacy by placing books into the homes of children within Southern Nevada's low income communities. Through community collaboration, mentorship and family partnership programs, Kids to Kids fosters reading and language development opportunities ultimately leading to brighter academic and economic futures for these children. We are dedicated to changing the lives of our at-risk children, one book at a time.

WITS sets students on a trajectory for success by building critical literacy skills and developing positive self-identity through teacher led professional development and volunteer powered mentorship programs.
